If out of rotation didn't give teams an advantage then Team USA wouldn't have abused the rule by having OPP's run out of the backrow leaving a mile early. If teams can be out of rotation and get away with it, particularly in a rotation where they struggle (often Ro1), they will do it. As they should. We need an Annie Drews sprinting compilation

The challenge system is nearly worthless for touch calls. Like.... we could see it on our replay, but "not enough evidence" is always the easy way out

I know they're not seeing the same thing we're seeing, but it's frustrating as a fan when there are so many times it's truly inconclusive, then you get one like that where you can see the finger bending back. Same thing happened last night in the OSU-Nebraska match in the 5th set, and it helped Nebraska win the set/match.

UK took care of business in game 1. Enjoying some Sunday morning coffee and volleyball. This is the second match of the day for me already and it's only 9:30 am! Tigers responding back in set 2! #TeamTonya LSU looks to have some new life with Tonya at the helm. Really happy for her. She's awesome.

9 kills. No errors. .643 hitting percentage. That seems pretty good. Is that good?

"Kentucky is playing a little more cleaner."
No. Just no.

There shouldn't be that much of a disconnect. The TV crew does a better job of pointing these things out than the actual challenge crew. It's ridiculous sometimes. idk. I mean, I know it is the refs job to call things right, but I do wish players were more honest about those things

I mean, I know it is the refs job to call things right, but I do wish players were more honest about those things I don't even think they're using the same cameras. I don't know. I'm not the expert on the replay system. But it's my understanding the replay cameras are separate from the TV coverage. As far as being honest about those things, that's just not how it works. It would be different for me if every other sport that's played at every level had players being honest about these things, but since it's the exact opposite, expecting volleyball players to set some kind of extraordinary trend doesn't pass the reasonably test for me. But that's just me.

BTW, it's 30-29 Kentucky. Kentucky serving for set point.

Kentucky played better down the stretch there. LSU service error and hitting error give Kentucky the 2-0 lead. LSU also is slow to react on tips and tracking down balls high off the block.

GJ Kentucky. 2-0.
LSU got jobbed on that challenge call, though. Should be 1-1, but it isn't.
