Tiffany Westerberg must be enjoying married life, cause it has carried over into how she is playing volleyball. She is a lot more mature in the way she goes about playing volleyball now. Seems to be having a lot more fum.

Seems to be having a lot more fum. not doubting her married life is great but Tiff has always been a mature player, always business like. If she played in the middle last year I could only image how much better she would be right now, she’s a great player and you can tell more comfortable in the middle, as she should. |

Right now, Tiffany and Riley, are just playing volleyball, not thinking, just reacting. That allows them to play a lot faster.

Good match by Hawaii. UC Davis is a decent team. The conference as a whole is able to schedule a good team or two out of conference, so no one (or at least everyone except the bottom teams) will not be overwhelmed by another team in the conference. Davis has played good teams and they will know how to score against Hawaii. They have a few good players in Utterback and Ough but they just didn't have the consistency to stay with Hawaii for the entire match. Credit that they tried hard and really went for it, especially with their serves.
As others have mentioned, it's great seeing Wagoner continue to play well. She dropped off a little in the 3rd set, but played well overall. The defense is really striking to me. Usually it takes Hawaii a little bit of time to adjust to the scrappy Big West teams, but Hawaii did a good job of taking some huge shots from Davis. Lang is still a bit inconsistent, but you can see the talent. She gave her outsides some one on ones using the middles as decoys, especially in the 3rd with Akana hitting huge shot on the right. It's really fun watching her develop.

It's really fun watching her develop. Completely agree about UC david being a good team. I watched the Cal vs UC Davis game and was surprised by how good UC Davis was playing. Our outsides played well today! And love the scrappy plays. |
