Just watched the match. Too many errors in the net and passing in set 2 and Bulgaria kept tooling the right side blockers.
I love how Haleigh was invisible most of the match until the final set.
I was impressed with how much the middles were set this match. We need to set them a bit more like some of you mentioned, and we will be truly be tough to beat.
I think Bulgaria is worse than Canada but just by a smidgen. A VERY lackluster showing by them today but they were missing their best player Zhana Todorova, their libero. I think not having E. Dimitrova and Vuchkova also hurts them. Alas, twas not their day.
Tomorrow vs. Germany will be a good warm up for Serbia. I wonder who starts tomorrow?
Pool B's top four are going to be four fun matches for the USA. All of them could make things interesting (Poland, Turkey, Dominicana and Thailand).
I hope Poulter and JWO are ok.
Cuttino looks terrible. JT has to be injured to have not made the roster.

Let's hope that back issue is fixed! Frantti is that bish we didn't know we needed 6 months ago. I thought KP was going to fill that role but I don't care who it is, as long as we have a terminal option on the left side. Annie makes me nervous. I expect her to struggle vs. Serbia and other better blocking teams. Cuttino ain't it. Frantti will have to maintain this level. I think we are all here for it.

It's funny how Washington, Frantti and Simone Lee all came into PSU together and so much has transpired between them over the years. I think Washington/Frantti were the number 1/2 recruits but everyone was most excited about Lee who was like 12 or 13 maybe? IIRC, Frantti had a solid Freshman year but then pretty much disappeared for the rest of her career or took a back seat to Lee. PSU fans, what happened, because I truly don't remember. not a psu fan but frantti was freshman of the year in 2014 and a 2nd teamer (and then didnt make the all american team for the rest of her career i think?) like people said she had back problems during her career. washington was a 3x first-teamer ('15-'17) and b1g DPOY in 2017. lee was a 2x first-teamer ('16-'17) and b1g POY in 2017.

Lee was way more offensively dominant than Frantti but I think everyone had questions about whether her passing would hold up internationally. I don't think anyone thought Frantti was healthy/consistent enough to be an A-Teamer for USA. Haleigh was undoubtedly the surest bet, but there were definitely some concerns given she struggled/struggles to hit off of two feet.
Props to Frantti and Washington for elevating their games, and Lee should have been given more USA opportunities

She’s just thinking about Sandman Actually, I found one where she has a straight face. Didn’t realize Chi was second highest point scorer.

KP needs to at least be considered at opposite. If either JT or Drews get hurt, I’d think KP would be 3rd best option.

But i think it is also her decision to stay on that position? I hope she reconsider specially haak needs a backup, should start training and see how she will perform in that position in imoco.
