Disclaimer: ALL speculation. Any chance Dawn Sullivan is heading back to her alma modern (K State) and Cursty is headed back to lead UNLV? And maybe Kim Hill is taking Jordan Larson's lead and heading back to pro ball? Manhattan, KS < Las Vegas |

I haven't watch UTSA play a game, maybe ever, but am wondering if this is a trickle down thing? Gonzalez-Tomlin was with Cathy George (retired) and Paul Koncir (Tech at Notre Dame) so she likely isn't joining them. Her coaching tree is proably larger than that (played for Russ Rose and worked at Kent State and UTSA in the past), so she probably has some options if she wants them, but San Antonio his home (per her bio). Vorderer has only been at Nebraska, so unless Reyes (everybody's favorite name to throw around in threads for teams that need new HCs) is leaving Lincoln for a head coach job and has already picked an assistant and gotten it approved (seems unlikely given that many of these jobs have been open less than a week), I'm not sure where he'd go. All that being said, if somebody left for not a new role, and simply a "not able to see eye-to-eye" with the Head Coach, I'd guess it was Vorderer, seeing as Gonzalez-Tomlin's bio talks about knowing Price-Torok for a long time now. And this is, likely, officially the most chatter UTSA has ever gotten on VT, but since you seemed curious, and I'm intrigued by the nuanace of the hiring cycle (especially this year), I did a little reasearch 😅 Let’s maybe not talk about one/two coaches not seeing eye-to-eye with their head coach. Especially if you do not know anything of the sort. No rumors need started here and you do not need to give Gonzalez-Tonkin or Vorderer a bad rep on zero info. That’s how you give a coach an unsubstantiated bad rep Dom hasn't been married long, IWC, could be reason, but maybe she wants to move on a different career path. If so, she deserves the best in any endeavor. |
