ASU about to go back to 2017 levels and this program will be tough to rebuild. Iman, Marta, Claire returning and now with the change, they will all leave

That's the third opening in Pac12? When is going to be Crossin's turn?

So sad-- the portal will grow by at least three sun devils by morning. Well, considering the number of ASU girls already in the portal, you’re saying it’ll grow by 3 more Sun Devils? The coach/SA relationship with Iman and Sonia was tight--- Marta would not hang around on a team that has little hope. Claire has roots in Texas-- maybe a homecoming in the state at some level.

I’m just glad to see that there are a few AD’s that aren’t afraid of making changes. Coaching is based off performance. If you have been somewhere for half a decade & aren’t getting it done, perhaps a change is warranted. I have known too many college programs who have kept coaches with losing records around for 7-10 years. There are a ton of assistant coaches longing for an opportunity to lead a program. It would be nice to see some new faces taking the reins IMO.

Hopefully some ADs will start going the other route and hiring experienced, successful head coaches from “lower” levels. People who have actually head coached. It’s a different game than being assistant. But many ADs just want the press release with a name from another fancy school instead of a proven winner (ex Rehr). Hopefully Kyle Robinson is on some of these early lists.

I think in the case of ASU it's an ad and athletic program not valuing or knowing the game of college volleyball. If they wanted a coach change, they should have done it two weeks ago before all the athletes left for portal to give the incoming staff a chance. ASU staff was heavily recruiting off the portal and had many on site visits in the books or planned. Most of the athletes in the portal were athletes with little to no court time -- or young and waiting behind two/three on court players that would have most/all the play time for 23' season. With the ability of an active portal and the way college athletes now move team to team, they left. If the AD had this understanding, the staff had at least one more year to improve the program to make the tourney or get higher level recruits to build a team for the tournament.
What does everyone think -- will Sanja find a new position for 23' ? Where?

I don’t know him at all, but the first half of your statement is just factually incorrect. Before working at Oklahoma, Robinson served as the head coach at LIU Brooklyn from July 2008 to February 2015. He led the program to five NCAA tournament appearances and five Northeast Conference Championships through seven seasons. Robinson was named the Northeast Conference Coach of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, becoming the only coach in NEC history to earn the award four times. His final season at LIU Brooklyn included a perfect 14-0 mark in Northeast Conference play, 25-7 overall record, and a third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. In his career at LIU Brooklyn, Robinson posted a 144-83 record, including an impressive 90-10 mark in conference play. The Blackbirds claimed conference championships in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and the team reached the 25-win mark in both 2012 and 2014.

Great writers don't tell, they show. In your case, way to show you don't know what you're talking about instead of just telling us.

Not a hard pass at all. Kyle is a good guy and an excellent coach. Has already had a positive impact at QU. He should be considered for gigs if he is interested in moving.

Outside of the 3 matches in Florida, Quinnipiac has been a disappointment under Kyle. They are the best funded program in an awful league. They should be top 2 every year not a Cinderella story.
