Nebraska GA --> Santa Clara Assistant --> SEC Head Coach Unusual path, but unusual circumstances in Oxford as well. Also think there are more attractive SEC openings (and openings in general) this hiring cycle. "clear choice after a national search" is an interesting quote though since I don't know if there was ever actually a job posting. Banworth went from Nebraska assistant to SEC head coach. Yes, but coaching as an assistant at Nebraska is much different that coaching at Santa Clara. Also, Banwarth had a much more decorated playing career. It's not the same in my eyes. I doubt Henry would be considered for any other SEC Head Coaching job open right now. Wish her all the best in any case!

With all the vacancies open right now and everything that will follow with the domino effect, good HC's are going to be tough to find this year.

This makes a bit of sense. She did a solid job with the team after the mid-season mess. And, likely also the economical choice, given I am assuming they have to pay out Banwarth for a while. You forgot "SEC Asst Coach -- SEC Interim Head Coach" in her timeline

This is actually what I (poorly) was trying to communicate when I said, "Unusual path, but unusual circumstances in Oxford as well. Also think there are more attractive SEC openings (and openings in general) this hiring cycle." - Unusual path, but unusual circumstances in Oxford as well. (i.e. "Right place ... Right time...")
- Also think there are more attractive SEC openings (and openings in general) this hiring cycle. (i.e. "With all the vacancies open right now...good HC's are going to be tough to find this year.") a.k.a I'm not sure who else Ole Miss was going to attract, esecially if they wanted somebody named this week.
Thanks for better communicating the sentiments in my head than I manged to on my keyboard!

With so many openings, I am sure Ole Miss will not be the last surprise hire this off season. There are only so many qualified candidates out with experience necessary to fill these spots.

Bre Henry named permanent head coach at Ole Miss This makes a bit of sense. She did a solid job with the team after the mid-season mess. And, likely also the economical choice, given I am assuming they have to pay out Banwarth for a while. Really? 4-7 in her 11 games as the head coach and those 4 wins were against the bottom two teams in the sec (Mizzou and Bama) lost the last 7 games of the season.

Oklahoma (yesterday) was the most recent one, right? Gray-Walton and Kuhn (5 seasons each) look to be among the shortest coaching stints of the openings on the front page of this board. Missouri would be too (3 seasons) but there were clearly other issues in Columbia than W/L.

So sad-- the portal will grow by at least three sun devils by morning. Well, considering the number of ASU girls already in the portal, you’re saying it’ll grow by 3 more Sun Devils?
