And the match times were already advertised for noon. So that's a weird "update."

I knew they were both going to be televised both originally were on ESPN2 the only thing that’s changed is that this weekends match is now on ESPN

I think it is a reminder for people to update their DVR schedule. j/k
I think ESPN draws more viewers than ESPN2. I like it.

I remember taking the ferry from Manty to Ludington back in 1981 and then camping near Sleeping Bear Dunes Sleeping Bear Dunes is awesome. Ludington is a cute little town.

Rainbow on task and talking about something I know and love. Lakes. Does our resident limnologist have any other fun facts about Lake Michigan to share? *Raises hand! Lake Huron and Lake Michigan are considered one lake, hydrologically. The straits are almost like an isthmus made of water. Once I took the ferry from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island and it was peaceful. On the way back 3 hours later... 8 ft waves. 🤢. Fortunately the trip is just 16 minutes.

Rainbow on task and talking about something I know and love. Lakes. Does our resident limnologist have any other fun facts about Lake Michigan to share? Trying to think of something that links Wisconsin and Michigan. Maybe I'll post something before Sunday. There are some interesting dynamics in the water level of lake Michigan coming out of the last glaciation which is responsible for the inland dunes all around the lake. The separate histories of environmentalism and Ecology both can be linked to those environments. One thing to note is that it's actually Lake Superior that sits in the ancient midcontinental (or Keweenawan) rift zone. That rift zone only crosses lake Michigan near the connection between Lake Michigan and Huron. All the great lakes were carved out by glaciers that selectively removed soft sedimentary deposits for water to fill in later. In the case of Superior, these sedimentary deposits sat between the ancient erosion-resistant volcanic rock that ridged the rift zone. Grand Isle is an outcrop of that double layered ridge. It does kind of link Wisconsin and Michigan through the Keweenaw peninsula in the UP and it's associated landforms in Wisconsin. A place I've always wanted to visit and kayak in.

The Niagara Escarpment also links the two states (and Anna Smrek in Ontario).

I can't believe this thread is already on Page 2 and I missed all of the fascinating hydrologic and geologic chatter!
Here's my fun Wisconsin/Michigan fact: We have a family friend who lives in Ironwood, which shares the border with Wisconsin on the far western end of the UP. We can drive to Rutgers from Ann Arbor, covering 4 states, and get there faster than we can get to Ironwood! The two cities are nearly equidistant in road miles.

I believe it's about 10 hours from Houghton to Ann Arbor as well!
I have to go to Marquette MI from time to time with a volunteer group based out of Lansing. They send me from Madison instead of someone from Lansing because I am closer!

I think Wisconsin's size and physicality is going to be a challenge for Michigan to overcome today. When Blue is at its best, Murray and Mruzik are holding their own on the passing front. They should be the primary targets for the Badgers; tough and consistent serving will get Michigan all out of sorts and things could look very ugly similar to the Minnesota match last week. In system, Michigan has lethal weapons across the floor.
Hoping to eke out at last a set win today. Go Blue!

Michigan can't be overlooked. They have a tough first half conference schedule. Glad this match is in the Field house. 3-1 Badgers.

We get to see the Jesses in person today in the Field House! I'm looking forward to watching Michigan's talent compete with the Badgers.
