Who is USA’s best passer in the international level besides Cook? I think they need to develop the OH’s they already have to be able to beat teams with the likes of Boskovic, Egonu, Stysiak. can you stop putting Stysiak in with the likes of tica and Egonu 😭 Fair enough, but I gotta give her credit for scoring 40 points against the eventual champion, maybe she was just playing lights out with the help of the crowd but she still produced a stellar performance.

I think we should keep investing in Frantti? Y'all lose hope so quickly. She definitely struggled the last stretch of world championships but was also dealing with injury. She showed huge upside early on and I wouldn't count her out for USA just because she didn't stay on top tier level at her FIRST world championships.

I'll have to see what Frantii does this club season first. Its funny how i said at the start of summer that based on the way she plays and swings it looks like she is going to get injured. Frantii showed alot of promise starting in VNL, she was relatively unknown so she had the element of surprise and put it to good use but slowed down when teams started to plan for her and study her game for WCH. Right now she is in her sophomore slump, i hope she can improve her game even more

I’ll just be here being sad over Foecke I’m really disappointed she hung it up and chose a different path. Looked like she could have developed into a nice replacement for Larson one day.

This thread is a mess and off the rails 9 pages of pure absurdity, I live. 2023 is fast approaching and one year out from the Olympics these girls are tired non stop training. I think our expectations were high as they should be but maybe and hear me out we performed right where we should be
How many new faces did we see for this world championship we lost most our leadership and players from our Olympic team, with a few players returning who mostly played supporting roles.
Big questions? Can we get an outlet hitter. Team USA hasn’t had one since you know who so can anyone step into that role a point scorer like Boskovic and Egonu. Can our outsides pass? Who will set? Poulter seemed to have regressed and Carlini showed flashes or greatness and then came back down to the median.
I think what I took away from this WCH was disappointment it’s nice to be top 4 in the world but this team seemed to lack the signature fight even when down. They didn’t seem to push hard. I hope we can get back to basics passing and setting. Run a fluid offense. Also Karch please I know you haven’t heard no much in your life but it’s ok to be wrong sometimes stop letting your ego control you.
A year to sort through the issues see if anyone steps up I think this back half of the quad should be very interesting.

To pretend she was going to be a good enough passer to be compared to Jordan Larson is laughable. tbf that was a bit of a reach (lol) but is there anyone in this pipeline more likely to have filled that role than foecke? no. Foecke's passing would've blown this entire group out of the water. A SWP-Foecke pairing couldve been a lot of fun.
