I feel sorry for the players involved and the coaches and school.
But if I was one of those "Crisis Coordinators", I'd tell everyone to just lay low and chill. Don't make it worse. Take the high road. It will be a 2-day or 3-day story (IMO) and the frenzied media will move on to the next thing.

Personally, I consider all the "news" agencies posting stories about this (and posters making threads about it) to be partly culpable too. Why provide more publicity of this story, and thus more embarrassment for the victims?

Also, I think it is disgusting how judgemental people are. There is no reason to think less of anyone just because their pictures end up on the internet or something. I hear stories of people losing their jobs or having their political campaigns derailed because "scandalous pictures from their past" get dug up by someone. I don't see how that diminishes in the least their ability to do a job, or hold an office, or whatever. And really, it boils down to sexism

Whoever leaked the photos has issues. At the same time if one of the players was my daughter I would be telling her she is just as guilty and there shouldn't be any finger pointing. WTH were these girls thinking letting someone take their pictures with their tops off thinking it would never make it to the internet. Poor decision making on their part. Hopefully this will be a life lesson for these girls and the volleyball community. Welp, didn't take long for the victim blaming to begin. The only focal point here should be the horrifying invasion of privacy for these young women. Take your "well, what were they wearing?" attitude elsewhere. Not victim shaming, but digital pics shared within a group get disseminated to unintended places. Has happened many times in the past and will continue in the future. Feel most for those that were inadvertently in the background of the photos. A no cellphone in the lockerroom policy might help, but doubt the young generation would accept that. Unfortunate situation repeated many times: historical and future.

The fans at Nebraska, Ohio St and Penn St are going to have a field day when Wisconsin visits in the near future. Hopefully not. That should be shut down Pronto. Kick offenders out. Easy fix. Getting digital pics back not so.

I hate these type of racist and very offensive acts. Whoever did this should be ashamed of themselves and should pay the consequences in accordance of law. I do not condone this!
Anyway, any link to the leaked photos? Asking for a friend.

The fans at Nebraska, Ohio St and Penn St are going to have a field day when Wisconsin visits in the near future. 1) No they won’t. 2) Even if there was a sick minority of individuals in those fanbases who would try and bring this up, the players and coaches of those said schools will not stand for it and will take care of it immediately and remove the culprits from the game.

The people on this thread trolling to keep this issue front and center are just as disgusting as those who hacked the images in the first place, and who are spreading the images so aggressively on line. I’ve got a lot of blocking to do tonight. The news media that go with this story are just as culpable (the NY Post? Really? What a goddamned rag!)
I’m not entirely sure what the point of the leak was, or the fascination of the media with it. Or the fascination of some of you people with it. None of it makes any sense to me. The intensity of the online spread sounds oddly coordinated to me. Like a gamer gate situation. It feels targeted at women in sports.
I do not think I want a world where kids have to worry about taking pictures of their friends in the privacy of a locker room. The whole point of a locker room is to get dressed. They are celebrating an achievement. Let them enjoy it. I don’t want a world where people punish them for having their privacy invaded, where the hard won joy gets tainted.
That may be too much to ask. At the very least, I want a world where the badgers show these bastards they won’t get the better of them.

Problem solved if people don't take pictures in locker rooms, but they do. Stupid practice in a digital age.

With the context of the video, wouldn’t the initial leak had to have come from inside the locker room?

Quite honestly, there will always be some limited fascination with this type of situation. The coordinated nature suggests something else, and my guess is that part is aimed at Sheffield. He is not well-liked in a fair share of VB circles.
