Anthony Weiner deliberately sending illicit photos to women who did not ask for them is in no way comparable to images of women being distributed publicly without their agreement. I can't believe I have to say that. That we are even talking about women sensing ANY risk to their reputations as a result of the latter case is insulting.

Nothing to be embarrassed about it’s just boobs. A lot more leaks on the mens side , I’ll just leave it at that.

When men show their chests it's whatever, when women do it then it can be linked to crime or scandal

While the person who posted the pic is obviously in need of mental help, those women should be proud of the photo. It was a fun statement. Context helps. Nothing like VT trying to make it into a huge deal. Apparently breasts are a huge deal for some people. FYI, about 50% of people have them. Oh my god, this is the first thing I thought when I heard about what the context of the photo was but didn’t know how to say it. Like for sure whoever put it out there, phished or not, is an a$$hole but the amount of puritanical nonsense I’m reading in this thread is pretty bad as well.

Yeah, I think back to an earlier post in this thread that said something about how this could haunt them when applying for a job or something. Like, WTF? How is this supposed to be relevant to applying for a job? It always seems to be women who are told they must be "modest" and can't show off their bodies. And are blamed if they do (whether intentionally or unintentionally). I disagree. I believe that a guy who is known to be circulating “dick pics” would be just as un-hireable. I actually think that’s a much worse look than women posing for topless pics. Wow

Lot of people saying women should not be ashamed of exposing their breast. Fine. However, it wasn't the public that went to the police, it was the women exposed in the pics that went to the police because they were upset about the breach to their privacy. Possibly it may be more accurate to say "some" of the players felt violated. Possibly some did not.
Happens over and over again. Share private pics or info with others, it gets disseminated. Maybe it shouldn't but human nature takes over and it does. It is unfortunate, but it happens.

I saw a comment that Wisconsin will amend or add conduct rules for their athletes when they are officially representing the university. I would think that is already in place. From what I gather most but not all have graduated/moved on from the university. I am quite familiar with a group that has young women (upper teens to mid 20's) represent them and they have strict policies in place when they are in their official capacity and also what is a no-no when they are on their own time during their year with the group.

They didn’t do anything wrong, they are victims of a crime. I have no idea why that concept is so hard to understand. What’s next “ I’m sorry you were raped but to be fair, you were wearing a mini skirt and halter”?

But there are places I do not go, especially after dark, to avoid being a victim. What I am saying is locker room pics shared within a private group tend to not remain private. Thus for future reference maybe people should consider the propriety of taking such pics. Maybe it's illegal to release them, but it's still likely to happen.

You may not think that's what you're doing, but you assigning a measure of responsibility, and yes, blame to the victim. You're not to blame because you walked down a dark street, and they're not to blame for taking photos in private. Period.

Based on recent events at WI where locker room pics reportedly appeared on Reddit and Twitter, I am curious whether teams or schools have prohibitions on taking locker room pics.
Seems common sense to me, but I am an old guy. My experience with younger folks is some seek out embarrassing pics of their friends. Not my cup of tea, but to each his own.
I am of the opinion that such pictures often do not remain private, even if the intent is to keep them that way. Also the more people in the private shared group the more likely they get out.
Not blaming or shaming anyone. Rather hoping it gives some food for thought to prevent future issues.
The biggest damage maybe to friendships and memories of life events. Unfortunate.
