A bunch of women showed their breasts in a photo which was obviously kind of a "women rule" photo. Pretty sure they don't give a %*$#. The only people who care are incels on the internet and pearl-clutching people on this board. Basically, who the !!!!###$$$!!!s cares? What about the players’ moms? How are they handling this? C’est la vie

I'll try to explain this to some people. Wisconsin was just doing a Brandi Chastain. On a different level. If you don't remember, she got a lot grief for ripping off her jersey in an Olympic soccer match after scoring the winning goal and revealing a sports bra underneath. She was immediately vilified. If you're offended at seeing womens' boobs, not sure what to say. While I hate Wisconsin with the passion of a thousand burning suns, I have to think the team is laughing about this. I don't think you can make a blanket statement like that, that all the players are laughing about it. Everyone will feel differently about it, some might shrug it off, but some are obviously angered enough to file a police report. I would be horrified if this had happened to me and it was national attention.

This is true though: Only women have to even think about shame and negative social consequences if photographs of them naked or semi-clothed are surreptitiously leaked without their permission. Only in that case do we find that the negative social consequences fall primarily on the those pictured, rather than those responsible for the leak. I do think that is a failure of our society, in the same way that some subject to rape also have their reputations tarnished by the violation, as if they are somehow at fault.
And I think we should push against that inequity as hard as possible.

Did not work that way for Congressman Anthony Weiner... Most men would not want nude or semi-nude pics published in this manner. Do not see this as a gender issue.

When I posted a link to a social media site and a video of the Oregon volleyball players and this Dad thought that it was inappropriate, I got sent so much hate mail from the Ore vt zealots about how "girls are just having fun" How this Wisconsin stuff all plays out will be interesting.

I think you’re missing the bigger point, while a man may not like it, would he be judged harshly, ridiculed, shamed? Gender has everything to do with it. I truly for hope that those in the photo’s say “who give’s a f*+ck?”.

With the context of the video, wouldn’t the initial leak had to have come from inside the locker room? One would think but there is a possibility of the a player/staff member taking the photos/videos but not to share. Then someone accessed her phone and release the content. I doubt anyone from inside the team would intentionally hurt her teammates by releasing private content. Sounds like someone hacked the phone, stole the phone and opened it or someone accessed the phone without that person knowledge and publicized the thing. It’s a simple route really. Player/female staff -> boyfriend/roomie -> buddies -> internet. It could be simpler than that. Whoever broke the law in that chain needs to be held accountable. Girls learn to exercise better judgment around a cell phone. What’s out there is out there, quite possibly forever.

Yeah, I think back to an earlier post in this thread that said something about how this could haunt them when applying for a job or something. Like, WTF? How is this supposed to be relevant to applying for a job? It always seems to be women who are told they must be "modest" and can't show off their bodies. And are blamed if they do (whether intentionally or unintentionally).

I wonder if Wisconsin is wondering if this is the calm before the storm?

I actually think that’s a much worse look than women posing for topless pics.

While the person who posted the pic is obviously in need of mental help, those women should be proud of the photo. It was a fun statement.
Context helps.
Nothing like VT trying to make it into a huge deal.
Apparently breasts are a huge deal for some people.
FYI, about 50% of people have them.

If you think it’s a big deal for your boobs to be publicly seen, don’t let somebody take a photo of them. If it’s not a big deal, then have at it.

For a lot of reasons.
