I didn't watch the match, but these stats baffle me. Nuneviller hit .155, Colyer hit .100, and Oregon as a team hit .187. Colorado, on the other hand, hit .293.
How in the world did Oregon win this?

Bottom line.... 4th set, CU didn't get a ball down and/or pushed a bunch over to keep in play / play safe after being way up... which gave the ball to Oregon to run kill after kill. That was CU's game the last few years ...and they lost matches they could have won... just like tonight. Too bad they went back to that and lost a set that should have been theirs. Need to go back playing smart and aggressive. 5th set was a bunch of things.

Is there a replay of this somewhere?

I know a heartbreaker for Colorado and sorry for the Buffs fans. They were passing really well and firing on all cylinders. Ducks were shell shocked. You’re right, when the Ducks started to make a run in the fourth, the Buffs played “not to lose” instead of the aggressive play they were winning with. I was happy to see many more tips than the blasting away.
I’m glad the Ducks kept battling. At 9-19 in the fourth they absolutely could have mailed it in. I cheered anything positive as loud as a could and have no voice left. I already have my flights for the first 2 rounds to Eugene and I REALLY don’t want to change them!

It's a bit janky, sound is crappy, dubbed badly (lots of double talk, meaning same point, same commentary is on twice, sometimes early, sometimes late), misses some points, but there it is.

That was a crazy match. So proud of my Ducks for pulling this one out, and the grit when you're down 9-19 in the 4th to try and force a 5th. That's some insane level comeback.

Tough loss for COL. They really should have won that, but gritty fight for the Ducks. Wins like that help the Ducks believe they can win even when not playing their best.

Often it's hard to determine the quality of play watching a PAC12 broadcast. And this match was a bare-bones PAC12 insider stream.
But while there were some clearly spectacular stretches of play by both teams in this match, there were also excruciating long stretches (6 points, 6 out of 7, etc,) where a team could not side-out.
That's the kind of play that could see any team get knocked out of the tournament first weekend.

Wow, holy %*$#. First, I died. And then I had to go to the Boulder PD and give a statement about the robbery I just witnessed.
Amazing comeback and win, Ducks! CU played amazing, their block was all over us and their pins were tooling and carving around the block effortlessly. Big change in the 4th when Mutiri got hot. I also think Neal coming in made a big difference. It looked like it was too late for the sub to matter as we were already down a bunch, but she got a big stuff on the X in our comeback (which had been scoring automatically all night), and had some really effective block touches that FINALLY slowed CU down a bit and go into D/transition. There just weren't a ton of diggable balls before the closing run. The stat sheet impact was minimal, but blocking is the one aspect where one or two plays can have an outsized effect and change the way CU hitters approached the game and shift momentum. Glad we have so much depth - would like to see us be quicker to make changes (though I can tell the connection wasn't there on the offensive side).
Glad Oregon won without playing their best. We really rely on the backrow attacks to spread the offense and punish the block for loading up but that didn't happen tonight. Poor efficiency, and it's not like CU was focusing on it, a lot of the D balls we hit out only had 1 block up. Definitely need to fix whatever was going on with that.
On to Utah. GREAT WIN, SCO DUCKS!
19-9!

GREAT WIN, SCO DUCKS! 19-9! I think a couple of factors came into play. I think traditionally Mondays are an off day for vb players. Don't know if this applies to the Ducks, but it makes sense. Tuesday also being an election day and mandatory off day for students now. And add that they're playing a day earlier than normal with the travel to Colorado probably makes for a wonky week for the Ducks. I think, in terms of the Utah game, it'll be a good thing for the extra day and extra travel in terms of prep and rest rest, but it made for a vulnerable Ducks team. Glad they were able to pull this one out.
