Jennifer Lawrence was going to play Elizabeth Holmes in a feature film version but backed out.

If only there were some famous phrase that could explain that even if you have good intentions, it doesn't mean you can break laws and hurt people trying to achieve them. Something like "the road to hell is paved with good intentions", or maybe "the ends don't justify the means". Something like that. Yes, but "There's a sucker born every minute" "A fool and his money are soon parted" "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people" "In brief, she assumed that, being a man, I was vain to the point of imbecility, and this assumption was correct, as it always is." And, of course: My country ’tis of thee Sweet land of felony Of thee I sing — Land where my father fried Young witches and applied Whips to the Quaker’s hide And made him spring.

If I were to guess, it will probably be around 5 years and the most likely home for her will be Federal Correctional Institution, Dublin, which is right here in the Bay Area. That's where Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin served their shortish sentences. Since this a federal crime she will have to do most of her 11 years?

Yeah - but there's "good conduct" time that's automatic. Prisoners in low/minimum security prisons/camps are generally ones who they believe will be well behaved. I remember with Felicity Huffman, she had an advisor who gave tips on when to report, and because of standard procedures she ended up being released early. She had a 14 day prison sentence but reported where the end of 14 days would end on a weekend, and they don't release on the weekend. I read her first day was actually the day of her arrest when she was booked and released. I heard that good conduct time used to be 54 days per 365 days, and prisoners weren't eligible for it unless the sentence was at least a year. There might be other programs to reduce time. www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-announces-new-rule-implementing-federal-time-credits-program-establishedThere might also be the possibility of going to a halfway house if the BOP agrees to it. QAnon Shaman guy is now in one.

Interesting article about her in the New York Times, where she and her husband allowed a reporter to chronicle her last days before her prison reporting date (to a minimum security prison camp in Texas). It was reprinted here in its entirety, without a paywall or limited articles. www.sfgate.com/business/article/liz-holmes-wants-forget-elizabeth-18084126.phpBut several things are made clear. The deep voice she used was clearly an act. Her husband admits to it. And she’s still claiming that she could have been more successful if she had devoted herself to the technical issues rather than the marketing to investors. And her in laws apparently aren’t paying for her legal bills, which she claims are around $30 million and that she’ll have to pay off. But I suppose her husband might pay it if his startup takes off.

Is she married? Article says Billy Evans is her "partner and the father of their two young children". I would think they would not get married as long as she faces any potential liability.

There are reports that they were married in 2019. Can’t find any pictures though. Before I edited I made some reference to something that found was satire.

Appeal denied by no word on when she has to report. Also hit with liability of over $400 million in restitution, which she and Balwani are jointly liable.
Not sure why the judge is recommending a prison in Texas. The logical location would be FCI Dublin.
