There’s a rumor in Brazil circulating that FIVB is thinking of allowing teams to be able to bring 14 players in the OG (but still 12 for matches) It could be nothing… but that would be interesting this change needs to happen eventually tbh. Hopefully it does

Bringing Hentz seems obvious...
but for the 14th... would it be for another OH or a 3rd setter?
given the team and then Tokyo... I have to imagine a 3rd setter is more likely

It's real sad to think a few great pin hitters will be left off the roster come summer

Regla is not happy.
No importa. ME NIEGO.

Hello to all friends and acquaintances. I will try to be brief but I don't know if I can do it, it will be difficult.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has contacted me out of concern, asking how I was feeling, how my mother was doing or whether I had already left for Russia. It seems that those were the excuses given to the people who asked about me back in Chile when they didn't see me at the Pan American games. That's not true, none of that is true. I don't know how many people have been told that, that's why I have to publicly tell the truth.
I sat down with the president of the Cuban Volleyball Federation and told him that I was not going to participate in the Pan American Games, and that although I was going to continue working at the school, I would no longer work with the national team. I made that decision when we returned from the tournaments in the Dominican Republic and Canada. The people who asked should have been told the truth. Why wasn't it like that? I am not going to allow any type of lies or hiding regarding myself because I speak clearly. If something characterizes me, and the people who know me know it well, it is that I always go ahead no matter what it costs me and that has cost me a lot, a lot. It doesn't matter. I don't like controversy on the internet, I knock on doors, whatever is necessary, anyone, even if it is the highest at the top of the hill, I say what I have to say loud and clear, without mystery and looking into the eyes , It's better this way. My networks are for laughing and learning, but I repeat, since I don't know how many people were told something that is not, I have to clarify it here.
I have been working at the National Volleyball School for 15 years. I arrived with the hope after the 2008 Olympic Games to contribute learned experiences. Everyone knows that when you retire and start as a coach you have to leave your athlete mentality and gradually assume your new responsibility, that is true. But that was a few years ago.
For a long time I have seen how women's volleyball is dying from within. Mistakes, bad decisions, caprice, pride, mediocrities, inability, lack of commitment, lack of discipline that leads to bad results, inflation, lies, satellites, specialists who came to put an end to the Cuban volleyball school, scholars, they throw stones, THEY HAD ME GODDAMN FOR A LONG TIME, and one there watching all the %*$# pouring out, with a broken soul, seeing day by day how people who had nothing to do with our history, which is very great , bigger than ourselves, they overwhelm it, they pass over what once was, without mercy.
We are partly to blame, I only say partly because I understand the feeling of helplessness, discouragement, disappointment of never having been taken into account for anything, neither in our sport nor in INDER. Eugenio always said that when we stopped winning no one would remember us. He was right. That's why when at some point a kind of call was made, no one attended, they no longer wanted to know anything more because of so much abuse. There are positions filled in the school for which none have been filled. Positions occupied by satellites. I know that if someone had sat down, regardless of everyone's feelings, which are all painful, and had really called them to a serious meeting and asked them for help truly and without pride, they would be there at the foot of the cannon. and here in the hot one. Not all of them would have been coaches, that requires a vocation, but working in other equally important functions, related to discipline and sowing values that we so need. An example of this is the late Chela, Eugenio's wife and technical director of the Cuban school, both male and female, who without being a coach was the best and, I dare say, sometimes even above himself.
I start watching old games and sometimes I cry for my teammates and myself. When I look at each one I remember her injuries, the tears shed due to scolding, tiredness, pain and gritting my teeth and continuing. The sacrifices for years, the daily training between 6 and 8 hours a day, the blood on the court from scrapes, the operations. Giving everything, but everything day by day for so long, you can't become three-time Olympic champions and three-time world champions, among other things, in any other way. Our quarrels and reconciliations at play time, our imperfect and tough brotherhood, because I know that even if I don't have the best relationship with someone, when I need it, they will be there without conditions, we were a team of crazy fighters, but they are my crazy ones. forever. I cry in silence for so much incomprehension and also for so much impudence, because the easiest way has been chosen, (they do not want to support) and not try to speak to them with my heart in my hand, that has never existed on the part of anyone.
As for me, I am there. 2nd 3rd coach is not enough, you can suggest but that's it because of a problem of professional ethics. I have seen how the coach is there to impose a little discipline, as far as she is allowed, of course, and that is enough. I refuse to continue like this, I refuse to be the foreman of volleyball, to be the bad guy, while others behind you pass their hand and try to take away your moral strength to be the good guys in the movie. I refuse to let my hard-earned name continue to be dragged through %*$# without practically having a say. I REFUSE.
I have a lot left to say, but that's enough for now. I ride a horse and with an ax in my hand, not a machete. I AM VERY CABR@NA AND EMBARRASSED, and if someone dares to call me to get my attention, they better have good arguments to convince me otherwise. The second time I talk about this it will be without mercy.
Cuba deserves a lot of respect from us, that's what our coaches always taught us. We played for Cuba in those years and not for money, here we earned 50 Cuban pesos a month and two dollars a day when we went outside, but when we went out on the field we would fight with anyone, to put the name of our country up there in the stratosphere. The only thing Eugenio had to say was that the people were watching us.

I even read it, and I'm still not 100% sure what she is suggesting be done?

I even read it, and I'm still not 100% sure what she is suggesting be done? sounds like she's mad about the state of the federation and volleyball in the country... i dont know what rumors she's talking about... but i'd assume it's probably something along the lines of "why didnt you teach them better" based on what she's saying idk if she even has a suggestion other than "im out" i wonder if there was drama with the new coach

I saw this, too! These swings look amazing, especially that insane sharp angle she had. Notably, China is a lower-tier league. Half of these clips are one-on-one (though with the angles she's hitting they'd carve up any well-formed block anyway).

@madden55 is Milenkovic done? I see that she's playing Ukraine (which is tantamount to retirement).

Which is inconsistency from the offensive OH and maja being reluctant to set whoever that was. Maja will totally use Brankica and if she’s swinging like that…. Maja/Boskovic Mihajlovic/Busa Stevanovic/Aleksic Jegdic Nobody is beating us if Brankica plays well
