Russia is really going to come crush all of our dreams whenever they get unbanned. Their pool at outside hitter is the best in the world…. And Akimova is a menace plus all the veterans they have I heard some rumors say that the unbanning was only for individuals and not team sports. It's all very messy and things could change dramatically. it could be. The recent news is only in regards to qualification... which wouldnt affect something like volleyball (but would for individual athletes) It doesnt look like Yugoslavia had any teams in the Olympics when they were banned. (but that was way before my time and idk how qualification was impacted)

Kuznetosva(sp) Parubets (sp) and she can play either pin, Kadochkina and Popova. I might be forgetting some. Idk what Smirnova is up to and not to mention Antropova if she plays for Russia which is unlikely but still

Also Akimova takes a lot of swings on the left for volero and looks good doing it. She looks to me like she could be the next big thing. She’s big and has a cannon but most importantly is dynamic to go along with it

It'll be a battle for them to make the final roster cuts.

Gio did his first conference in Serbia after the Beograd match. http://instagram.com/p/CoHs66ouvxc Things to note: He likes VNL for keeping Serbias top ranking and he’s thinking about bringing a top roster from what I understand. Hopefully Sans Tica. He said maja is deciding on whether to come back for Euros/Og qualifiers.

Random thought but I'm curious to see what Germany can do this upcoming NT season. With Drewniok having a nice season with Sariyer I think she solves the OPP problem Germany had last summer. Stigrot could move back to OH and passing would be more stable (I think). They could definitely be a scary challenge for some of the top teams.
OH: Stigrot, Orthmann/Alsmeier OPP: Drewniok MB: Weitzel, Scholzel/Cekulaev S: Kastner L: Pogany
On paper that's not a bad lineup imo. But who knows, maybe the players will have beef with Heynen and they play like crap.

I don’t. Follow pro as much as y’all.
But why does it seem like our girls are usually on the Top teams, do amazing during the club season,
But seem to “flop” more during the national team season.
And if it’s karch, what exactly is he doing that is ruining the team?

I would say because the club teams pick/develop their system around their players available (and what plays to their strengths) meanwhile Karch has his system predetermined and moves from there.

Germany's success will depend on how Kastner plays and how consistent their pins can be.
