I'm VERY curious to see what Türkiye and Serbia will look like this summer. If Guidetti can get both Ognjenović and Drca on the same team again, I like Serbia's chances. Tijana has been playing otherworldly this year. Stevanović, Aleksić and Popović are a solid MB trio. I think Serbia is an upgrade from Turkey as far as talent goes but what does their depth look like? madden55 , help me out here. @epicbreathingnittanylion, Who do you think will be on Santarelli's strongest possible Turkish NT? I've been at home sick for the past week. I'm bored. I'm curious what you guys think about the NT's this summer and how things are stacking up. I welcome anyone's opinion, not just those posters I tagged. What does everyone think? there are some VERY promising youth players that will likely making their NT debut this summer for Serbia. Branka Tica and Alexandra Uzelac are incredibly talented outside hitters and Uzelac in my opinion could be by the time all is said it done an all time serbian great. Those are the 2 young outsides who excite me most but there are a couple more solid younger ones too like Ivanovic. As far as the middle goes that’s where Serbias greatest depth lies. Minja Osmajic is also a next level talent. She will absolutely turn heads at VNL and she is special. Hena Kurtagic also has a lot of potential but not like Minja imo. Similar situation to the outsides where both are very good prospects but one has a chance at real stardom. Also don’t forget Kocic who is having a good season in Romania and was the top blocker at the VNL a few years back. I’d like to see her get more time too. We are loaded in this position. Setter there are a couple that I have my eye on. Cirovic and Andrea Tisma. Both are really solid but not the generational type talents we have at OH and MB. Mirkovic as bad as she used to be showed some really promising signs of being a capable setter if needed if she continues. Drca and Maja will both be at the Olympic qualifiers. Opposite…… uh. Well. The 2 most promising prospects can’t stop getting injured. Savic and Caric both show such good flashes of play but can’t stop getting hurt. Branka Tica the outside I mentioned earlier is left handed and has a lot of experience playing opposite so she can slot in here potentially but she’s a bit small. Definitely my biggest area of concern. Libero, Pusic and Jegdic are both absolute studs and I really like Goacanin. We should be set here for the future as well. Overall, I worry about the opposite position and maybe setter in the future but we have stars at those positions for at least until Paris and some of these younger girls are really really good. The two biggest names to keep your eye on are definitely Osmajic and Uzelac. Is Maja confirmed to be back? Poor Drca... she just can't catch a [starting setter] break. Serbia OH is pretty deep. Mihajlovic, Busa, Milenkovic, Lazovic, Lozo. It's a fight!

Just a couple years ago the depth at OH looked depressing now we have a lot plus Uzelac is the it girl and Branka Tica is great too

Are we going to see Vargas suit up for Türkiye this summer?
Also, I'm curious if Santarelli will produce some results for them this summer like he did for Serbia.
What do you all think?

What do you all think? it’s a different situation. It’s not like Santarelli took some mediocre Serbian team and lead them from rags to riches. He’s a great coach but come on now aha. Vargas will help immensely though but some results are vastly different than a world championship gold lol

He just has to plug in the pieces and not break their confidence with his anger spells. Santarelli on the other hand will literally be spinning straw into gold if he can find a roster of 14 that isn't gassed, injured and is hungry for results. Both coaches have to get their teams qualified for the Olympics. I'm curious what the European teams roster balances will look like this season with the VNL, Euro Champs and the Olympic Qualifiers.

Very early thoughts. I thought santarelli would have a hard time talent wise with this team too but with Vargas its kinda clearer now. Karakurt at oh 1 and Vargas at opposite, that pin duo right there at least scoring wise will probably be right up there with any team internationally and they already have good middles

If Serbia stays injury free and Egonu isn’t with Italy I think the USA is the only team that will challenge them for anything meaningful unless Vargas makes turkey a lot better. I know Brazil made the final at wcs but all they really did that whole tournament was beat Italy and Italy was a mess and they got swept by Serbia. Brazil could prove me wrong but I’m skeptical of them being as good as Serbia USA going forward

Shes a valuable backup to Vargas but im tired of her, shes unreliable, and she hasnt played OH in ages. I think we will see at least Gizem Orge and Kubra return, hopefully Asli Kalaç after her injury will be back as well. I kind of want Şeyma back in the fold in some capacity if she wants to be. And hopefully some new blood gets a shot to earn a spot. Namely Melıs Yilmaz. I would say right now his best lineup is Hande/Ilkin Aydin Cansu/Vargas Guneş/Eda Gizem Orge But theres enough depth at MB that i hope he gives Eda off VNL. Cansu has been really out of form, so Buse Unal and Elif Sahin are probably his best backups. Buse is reliable but i think they need an in-form Cansu to be competitive. His bench should be some combination of Karakurt, Kalac, Kubra, Aycin Akyol, Tuğba, Saliha Şahin, Derya, Meliha, Şeyma, İdil Naz, Elif, Buse, Melıs Yilmaz, ve Simge. Boz should get to be in the squad for the first week of VNL in Ankara as a sort of send-off, she deserves that.
