Summary of the story. Antropova was born in Iceland. At a few months of age she moved to Russia where, among others, she attended a sports school. A national team "camp" is made in which she is enrolled but in which A. does not participate. 2018 Antropova moves to Italy and starts playing volleyball as an Italian. In the clubs she plays with, she provides the signed statement of the President of the Russian Volleyball Federation stating that she is NOT registered in Russia. She plays as an Italian for 2 years in Sassuolo A2 and starts season in Savino del Bene in 2021. The CEV informs the FIVB that Antropova is on its lists. The FIVB, months later (mid-2022), declares that that "camp" registration counts as a membership and therefore she has Russian sport nationality. Antropova in September 2022 appeals to the CAS in Lausanne seeking to reverse that decision.

I thought this agreement (which had Russia ceding their "Right" to Antropova) was meaning they don't have to go to CAS anymore and Antropova is free to go forth as Italian.

I thought this agreement (which had Russia ceding their "Right" to Antropova) was meaning they don't have to go to CAS anymore and Antropova is free to go forth as Italian. Instead, I believe that the CAS does not want to call either the FIVB or the President of the Russian Volleyball Federation incompetent by suspending the decision. Now Antropova if she wants to play as an Italian is obliged to - to change her nationality (passport) - submit request for change of sport nationality - hope that Russia will not object. If Russia objects, the FIVB will have to decide. More time lost, with the possibility of a negative decision.

That Russia agreed to let it go (and avoid going to court) and FIVB won't either.

Russia submitted a document saying that Antropova is not registered among Russian players. The document was signed by the President of the Russian Volleyball Federation. Russia has nothing to agree to. However, now Russia can object, which it could not before. It is the FIVB saying that Antropova has Russian sports nationality at the request of the CEV. Antropova, with the Russian document says that she started playing in italy but the FIVB reintepreted rule 2.4.1 of the sport regulations. The CAS has not made up its mind and has asked the parties to agree on a common solution.
