Most of well-known players in Brasil seem to be supporters of Bolsonaro (or at least were when he was in power) Both male and female. Clashes horribly with their passionate fandom on twitter and instagram where the vast majority are generally left-leaning. That fandom sometimes really has to close both eyes in order to continue to love them and support NT.

Clashes horribly with their passionate fandom on twitter and instagram where the vast majority are generally left-leaning. That fandom sometimes really has to close both eyes in order to continue to love them and support NT. I wouldn't say that. The men's team for sure. The women's team is kinda 50/50 when it comes to politics. Although they would not affirm their political views because in Brazil the debate is getting as heated as in the US and they don't want any part of it. Also, the twitter and instagram publics are very different. Twitter is totally leaned to the left and instagram to the right. At least here in Brazil. All the mess in the Wallace's case is due to the lack of clarity in brazilian sports law. Here is what happened: the COB (Comitê Olímpico Brasileiro or Brazilian Olympic Committee) suspended Wallace by decision of its (COB's) Ethics Comittee. This is a very important detail: he wasn't suspended by a court of law. CBV then complied with this decision and ratified Wallace's suspension at first. But Wallace and his club appealed in the "Supreme Court of Sports". However, they did not go to the actual federal agency which rules all the sports in the country, but rather to the specific branch that rules over only volleyball. And here we reach a gray area, because nothing I've read so far explained where the jurisdiction of the Ethics Committee ends and the Supreme Court of Sports' (in this case, just volleyball) begins, and vice-versa. So, basically, CBV was put in a situation in which 2 different rules were overlapping one another for the same case. But in the end I really think nothing will happen, because the COB wouldn't try to put up a fight against the 2nd most popular sport in the country and its fanbase. I think the whole situation is just a way for the COB to send a message about who has the real power above the rest.

the SEA games start next week and they'll probably be the most exciting in awhile.
Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Malaysia are in Group A while Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, and Singapore will be in B.
Thailand will still probably win... but Vietnam is getting better. Chatchu-on and Ajacharporn should be there... but they'll come immediately from turkey, yikes.

Thailand won GOLD the last 13 editions and 10 out of those 13, Vietnam got SILVER. Thailand will still probably win, but I might just root for T4 and Vietnam to finally get one

Pornpun won't be playing at this year's SEA Games because the staff want to rest her for VNL. She's had some sort of calf injury that has kept her off the court for a while.
I think we could see Vietnam at the VNL Challenger Cup this year. Their setting is a little bit messy (she tries to do too much sometimes) but they have some good pins.

was watching superliga final between praia and minas and it got me thinking…which country has the best depth by each position (let’s do olympic limit so 12 person roster) if based on two setters, four OHs, three MBs, two OPPs, two liberos

Libero is the hardest for me. Italy, Serbia, and Brazil all have 2 really good options. Who else has 2 good ones ? I think I’d say Italy tho
