WOW! That's another program first for Coach Leanne. First time winning BOTH the regular season and tournament titles. Great match! I would have posted sooner, but my wife doesn't seem to believe in relaxing over a holiday vacation... Was driving her to the car dealership, running errands, decorating for christmas and putting up lights outside. I finally got to a stopping point, and re-winded the live feed to watch the match "DVR-style"... I was really impressed with Sealock's play. It's the missing piece we have needed to force that offensive balance. Sealock was starting at OH last Spring, but had a nagging foot injury all season. Looks like she got healthy just in time! Woodin is still undersized at Setter, but she's very good other than that. She isn't going to win many jousts. Hoping to finally get a good draw in the Tournament now, and get another program first win there. Despite the sweep, the Yotes definitely had to earn every point. That looked like a 1 v 2 match to me. So elated for this team! Go Yotes! Congratulations! The Yotes came ready to play and they didn't seem tight to start the match. Omaha's generally a good passing team, but SD made them uncomfortable most of the afternoon. Omaha was trying to take advantage of Woodin blocking, but couldn't pass well enough to take advantage very often. I agree completely that Sealock makes a big difference. Juhnke was efficient and the Yotes didn't need her to completely take over the match. The crowd was great today. Lots of fans for both teams. Time to cheer for the Yotes in the NCAA tournament. I hope they don't get sent to Creighton again, although I did enjoy South Dakota's very good band last time.
