Last year, Colgate was Wisconsin's first round opponent. And the teams held open-to-the-public practices the day before the match, so I went. After Colgate finished up theirs, the head coach, Ryan Baker came around to chat with the few people there, asking how they came to be there, if they were related to players, etc. Nice guy. He told me that his wife had actually played for Wisconsin head coach Kelly Sheffield when she was in school at Albany, and other than that weekend, they were big Sheffield and Wisconsin fans.
So based on that, go 'Gate!

Pittsburgh is making their 18th NCAA tournament appearance and 7th consecutive. The Panthers are 58-60 (.492) in sets played, reaching the Final Fours in 2021; the Elite Eight in 2020-21 Spring) and the Sweet Sixteen in 1990.
Colgate is making their 5th NCAA tournament appearance and 2nd consecutive. The Raiders are 0-12 (.000) in sets played.
