I was really expecting more non-grad transfers today! Wonder if we see more as teams start losing or if it will mostly be grad transfers this year. Good things come to those who wait—but who don’t wait too long.

only coaches and other staff members have access to it Yeah, not too long ago the NCAA felt too many reporters had access to the portal, so now the coaches have to verify their e-mail every 7 days... and when Michigan's backup QB hit the portal this morning every reporter still had it before 80% of the football coaches did. Next year maybe it will be retinal scans or something, but they are definitely trying to keep it private. As an IT professional, how did the NCAA think that having coaches verify their email would help contain leaks? Just...

Who cares if TTA isn't a 6ro opposite? (She can be, btw) Because Eva Hudson definitely IS a 6ro opposite, her back row play is really overlooked The only question I was trying to get answered, by people who know the Purdue roster intimately, is if they felt having a (potentially 3 rotation) pin was their biggest need if they only had a scholarship for 1 transfer. I absolutely was not discrediting TTA at all. In fact, I miss seeing her top spin serve of years past. I completely understood your question and you're correct: they wouldn't need a 3-rotation OH/OPP (I personally think TTA is a much better OH than OPP) with what they have currently and who's coming in. If it was this season, it'd be a totally different story.

I was really expecting more non-grad transfers today! Wonder if we see more as teams start losing or if it will mostly be grad transfers this year. This might be a slow roll. Non-grad transfers could be pretty cautious, as they're aware there's a dangerous lack of available scholarships due to the COVID year still being a factor. I think they'll wait for the tourney to end and any of the big pieces to come off the board (or not) and the talent will trickle down from there. Most of the transfers posted today are just in programs they really want to get out of or from players who are less concerned about finding a home.

I'm begging for mid tier teams who just need that one player to get to the next level to get all the high power transfers (I know a dream)! Watched Creighton play on FS2 tonight (Big East Tourney Championship replay) and they are a libero, a middle, and an opposite away from being REALLY good. Sis and Martin are lethal on the pins and Wait is a gutsy setter (a little undersized but jumps well). Schmitt also decided to take her Covid year and she was crushing some slides. I know three positions sounds like a lot, but with KBB's ability to get freshman pins ready, I'm sure the opposite need is taken care of in the incoming class. The libero spot has been a revolving door since All American Birttany Witt graduated in 2019 (never forget the loss they almost handed Minnie in the Pav). The last two years they've started grad transfer liberos. Whitten is definitely not Bottomley ('21) so hopefully there is a better option if they go that route again. As for the middle, their M2 played solid, but when you look at the 1-2 punches the top teams in the country have at middle, she's going to need to develop (which we know KBB can do) or they need to nab somebody from the portal. I would LOVE to see Creighton be the team that can upset a top 10 team to open the season in 2023!

I think somebody told me once that if somebody enters the transfer portal before classes start for the spring semester, that a team doesn't have to give you your scholarship. Is that tre? If so, I could see non-grad transfers waiting until January. I'm not saying there are an abundance of programs that will yanks funds from kids, but I'm not saying their aren't any.

You enter the portal, and the school can cut spring aid immediately.

Also, May Pertofsky and Jess Robinson both grad transfers These are two HUGE gets! Would be an amazing 1-2 punch for a program to pick up together!!

She is a Bio Med Engineering major so I would guess a Purdue or a GT. Dave Shondell is a HUGE TTA fan and supporter. In one of the episodes of the Dig City podcast, (the Purdue Volleyball podcast) he discussed recruiting her at one point and has always wished she chose Purdue. Would be VERY interesting to see if Purdue is on her list or vice versa. I was at Purdue when she was being recruited. They went for her hard. She was a need then. Imagine Hudson and her or where Purdue would have went the past two seasons with her. Unfortunately, look at the class coming in. You may upset underclassmen, or who knows some people are very happy to take a redshirt. TTA would play.

Jess, Danielle Hart is graduating… Wisconsin would never take a transfer from the Wolverines. This is a sarcastic punch at a certain Libero right?

I was really expecting more non-grad transfers today! Wonder if we see more as teams start losing or if it will mostly be grad transfers this year. We got a pac 12 starting setter and OH, a leading scorer for an SEC team, and 3 grad transfers that would start for almost anyone, and it's only day 1. There will be more coming tomorrow.
