Probably true. Coaching changes almost always result in some moves. When Hugh came in the big move was the year after he was here though. Most the players stayed through the first year and then made up their minds to move. You can't transfer twice. Kayla Caffey chuckles I think it's you can't transfer twice as an undergrad. Grad transfers are obviously a different story.

I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, that you can transfer as many times as you wish BUT only get to be immediately eligible to play following your first transfer. After the first you have to sit a year (can train but cannot compete).

After the first you have to sit a year (can train but cannot compete). All it takes is a waiver, and the NCAA hands them out like candy. Basketball is particularly rife with players doing multiple transfers. I have yet to see the NCAA tell a player to sit a year, yet, and I don’t expect to. Ever, really. They don’t want to fight another lawsuit, so they put this speed bump in the way in the form of SAYING that a player will have to sit a year, knowing that they will never ever enforce it.

The first transfer is essentially automatically approved. The player declares their desire to transfer to the institution and they are able to transfer (this is the one-time transfer exception simplified) . After the first transfer, the athlete goes through the old process of requesting a transfer, and the AD/coach approves or disapproves with or without conditions. The athlete has the right to appeal whatever decision is made to the institution's compliance committee, and then to the NCAA if they choose. It is true that just about every institution nowadays would rather approve the transfer than deal with whatever fall out occurs.

Minnesota needs more MB's like a hole in the head.
I'm assuming she's trying to head to Texas or pull a Hord and head to Nebraska.

I think mentioning Texas and Nebraska is more a knee jerk reflex than anything else. I’ll have to see some players from both programs announce transfers first, and even then if there’s a high value setter that comes up, both the Longhorns and the Cornhuskers will be scrambling all over themselves to offer before they’ll be looking at a middle blocker.

I think it's you can't transfer twice as an undergrad. Grad transfers are obviously a different story. Fleck transferred from UCSB after freshman year to UCLA. Two years at UCLA, then trasferred to Texas. Apparently it is not an issue. edit.. redundant post, I see one page back this was noted.

For Graduate Transfer, I believe you have to transfer to a graduate program that's not offered at your school.

Two years at UCLA, then trasferred to Texas. Apparently it is not an issue. Well, she graduated from UCLA, so it’s not as clean a counter argument as you’re thinking. Nonetheless I can give literally dozens of examples of players in college sports who have transferred multiple times without having to sit a year. It’s not an issue because no one is willing to fight it. And for good reason. There would be a massive backlash and a possible likely losing lawsuit. It’s the same thing I say with NIL. If you have a rule in place but there’s no effective enforcement it’s the same as not having a rule in place. Such is the case with sitting out a year following the initial transfer.
