Not a traditional transfer, but former Arizona OH Simone Overbeck is coming out of medical retirement to play for Texas Tech. She arrived in Tucson in 2019 with an injury and never made it to the court. She played just 1 set in 3 seasons. She just graduated from Arizona. http://instagram.com/p/CuVg2CQupZY

Oh my goodness, how exciting for her. Not often do you hear of someone recovering successfully enough to come out of medical retirement. I hope she’s able to max out her career at Tech.

I suppose transfers from the service academies are somewhat common. Some people decide that the military isn't for them.

I noticed a local 2023 commit to the AF Academy last year recommit to Texas Tech. Maybe she didn't pass the physical requirements for the AF?

Or something popped up on a medical exam. Academics slipped. There are a plethora of reasons for not getting through the full process for the academies.
