Both teams have weapons. This could be a close one. Miami has beat some tough teams like UNLV and Georgia Tech, while Kansas has struggled against top teams in the last part of the season. Miami should be favored slightly.

Difficult trying to figure out who will be starting for Kansas this week given who has been playing over the last 2 weeks. It is unclear how much is injury and what is changes related to performance.
Rhian Swanson is playing the front row for Bien, but it is unclear if there is an injury involved here. And then, Elnady was so bad in the last match, that Bien ended up playing 6 positions while Elnady rode the bench. No idea what they will do on Thursday - my guess is they will go with Elnady and Bien, but I wouldn't count out Swanson playing the front row for Bien.
Not sure if Kirsch (Libero) is hurt and what her status is?
Kansas is coming off by far their worst performance of the season against Texas Tech (it isn't even close).

Full circle moment for Szabo having her (likely) last match in the Devaney

Lots of Kansas born players in the lineup, imagining they will bring a pretty good sized crowd (at least sell out allotment) including band and cheer team.

I want to pick Kansas but after the Tech game where they might as well had a sign that read ‘We’re only here because we were told there would be a trip to Whataburger after the game.’ Not sure I can.

Also LOL Miami leaving on a beautiful sunny warm day to be greeted by freezing temps, ice and wind. Welcome to Nebraska!

Kansas is making their 11th NCAA tournament appearance and second in a row. The Jayhawks are 48-38 (.558) in sets played, reaching the Final Four in 2015 and Sweet Sixteen in 2013 and 2021.
Miami is making their 12th NCAA tournament appearance and second in a row. The Hurricanes are 27-39 (.409) in sets played reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2002.

Have no idea how this match will play out. Hoping the Canes adjust well to the drastically different temperature. Haven't seen much of Kansas play this year so don't have a great read on them. Certainly not their best season however. For Miami it may come down to play at OH2 and OPP. If they can be decently effective and the middles continue their level of play they can certainly take this match. As an admitted MIA fan, though, I'm conflicted. Winning first round...great. But meeting NEB on their court in second round...ugly. They would be so out-classed it would be difficult to watch. I suppose scars like that could make one stronger, yet...
