So I'm gonna have to revisit this rollercoaster of a sub-regional. I caught the video of my fantasy MVP's self-sacrifice. It's almost worth driving up to Omaha tomorrow and stealing a ticket so I can stan.
But man, the injuries. Postseasons in DJ Sokol are actually cursed.

Heard a rumor the injury might have been a dislocated kneecap? Would explain her pain. I don’t know how an injury like that will affect her playing career, but I have to imagine it’s better than an ACL? Maybe worse? IDK. Not a doctor.

Like many injuries, they can vary depending on their seriousness. Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated kneecap 3 years ago and only missed two games. Texas RB Hodges Mitchell dislocated his knee in 2000 in the Holiday Bowl and it took him 2 years to recover. It depends on how much damage occurred around it. But the same is true for an ACL. Not all ACLs are equal at all*. *I am not a doctor, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn. And I follow sports obsessively. In an operating room I would concur a lot.

My friend, who knows I love volleyball, but does not know volleyball, sent me a clip of a point, maybe before Juhnke got hurt, from early in the 4th, when South Dakota made an epic save to keep a play alive and won the point while down 5-1. At any rate, they rallied to win the 4th after her injury. I hope she is okay for next year, but, as I felt with Wisconsin 2013 in the national final, kiyoat, while disappointed, can you feel anything but proud for what your squad did, giving it everything they had?

kiyoat, while disappointed, can you feel anything but proud for what your squad did, giving it everything they had? Well, yeah. I do and did feel a lot of things both during and after that match. Nervous anticipation and excitement before the match... Doubt and disappointment when the Yotes seemingly couldn't figure out how to pass in the first couple sets... Pride in the 3rd set, coming out punching with a new strategy (I'm not an XnOs type of fan, so I rely on you guys to tell me what was happening)... Absolute horror with the long delay, Juhnke writhing on the floor in pain. Like a punch in the gut. Sadness, not helped by all the shots of our players crying... and then... Complete surprise and elation in the furious way the team resumed and finished the fourth set. It was unbelieveable. Tears. Joy. When they went to the fifth set, I was still pretty sure Houston would pull it out in the end, but then the Yotes just kept coming.... Honestly, the end of the 5th with Houston's run to win it... I wasn't feeling anything negative at all. Just proud of what they did.... And then the reality of Juhnke's situation came back to me. Also, the Houston player's coming over to pray with the Yotes was just too much for me. Took me about a half hour to even come to the forum to see what was posted, and that was long after the match ended. I didn't express any of this in the game thread because I had to watch the game on delay, and wanted to restrict distractions. Plus, I'm not a very emotive guy, generally speaking. I didn't want to make a big deal out of my own feelings, because I didn't see it as helpful or relevant. But I was honestly heartwarmed by all the interest and positive comments by so many prominent posters on here. PS that match was like watching a great sports movie, only you don't know how it would end. Such an emotional rollercoaster. So, yes. I am proud of this team. 200%

Here's the link. Just put the F-word in place of the symbols, as described in the previous post Wow, more impressive than a Derek Jeter dive into the stands. ...AND comes back to fist up the second touch on the next volley! "The table still on the ground behind the court." I love how the bench players went over and set the table back up.

I love how the bench players went over and set the table back up. I mean, if somehow there is another errant pass to the same vicinity during the next point, you don't want to take a chance on your teammate impaling themselves on an upturned table leg

Just was kind of funny watching the bench players go over, with the camera on them. Good thing there weren't any coaches or other arena personnel at the table.
