If I'm looking at attempts, then she doesn't even come close to the amount of touches. 600+ for at least 10ppl on that list. I'd also throw in there that, for example, a team like Oregon, with Georgia Murphy, is a 2 person serve receive, vs most team doing tri-line. So while Murphys numbers might be lower, it also means she's covering more court than a lot of players.
when I was talking about getting to balls, I meant on defense, not serve receive. what someone like Murphy or even Gulce does is impressive in its own right. the passes per set are listed, along with the touch percentage for digs. two different things I was referring to |

Thanks for info. There sure are some impressive Liberos out there.
Fleck’s stars are absurd. Would be curious to see how her stats in the Big-12 this year compare to last year at UCLA. My gut tells me Fleck took her game to another level at Texas, but who knows.
Likewise would be curious to know how Cole’s stats at UCLA compare to her last year in ACC.

Briseño not making a Big 12 team is absurd. She should be an All-American!!!
Her passing numbers are significantly better than Fleck’s but Fleck’s defensive numbers are not significantly better than Briseño’s.
How exactly is defensive touch % calculated? Baylor puts up better blocking numbers than Texas so would that have an effect?

And McGraw, a great player, but a little lower on this list, when ranked by these metrics |

Originally the post was going to be about the Best Passers, so I set the threshold relative to receptions. But then there was interest in libero / DS players, so I went that direction...and totally forgot I was filtered on receptions and not rec + digs. I'll keep iterating and things will improve. One man show over here. |
