Tamas and Krista are at MEQs this weekend. Aren’t MEQs in Indianapolis this weekend? Hard to be in both Nebraska and Indiana at the same time.

Raina also has a covid year available. Hopefully she is back for another two years. Two years? She is a senior in the fall. Coming back for her Covid year is probably going to depend on how the team does this upcoming season. If she decides to grad transfer for her Covid year she will have the pick of programs to attend.

Any Illini faithful in the Metro East that can make it to next Saturday's scrimmage in Monroe County? I'm busy, otherwise I'd make the drive down from C-U.

Trying to think of some worthy cause to persuade my wife she wants to attend so I can drive the two hours to watch the match.

This is such a random and weird location to schedule a college volleyball match. If they were looking for a neutral site, Belleville, Collinsville or Edwardsville would have made more sense.

Are we recruiting anyone from St. Louis area? From the current roster Lily Barry lives the closest, 160 miles away. Maybe the local coach has a 6’4” top 20 pin hitter niece?

Not sure but some great players have come out of Belleville (Marnie Triefenbach) and Collinsville (Michelle Bartsch). Valmeyer is centrally located in the middle of nowhere.

The coach is high on this team. Thinks it may take some time to come together but has a high ceiling. He’s happy with the girl from Hawaii as the back up setter. Barry has brought some spunk and enthusiasm to the back row. A leader-type in practice, too. They love DeBoer. She needs strength but she’s very talented. Expecting big things from Dean when she arrives although they have been pleasantly surprised by Bingham. She can be a bit slow on the block but she hits well on the slide. And Mosher is an upgrade at setter. Add in that Kennedy is healthy and our All American is better than ever. Obviously, shoring up the passing needs upgrading and they think Barry will be a big part of that. Are excited to get the transfer from Columbia to see what she’s got. Terry will play 6 rotations and probably the only one who will. DeBoer wants to, but they don’t think she is ready for that yet.
It will be interesting to see if the coach’s optimism comes to fruition.
