Regardless, I’m looking forward to next season, when hopefully we move beyond .220 hitting.

Just logged in to say that the ball 100% touch the antenna. This ref is horrible. Come on jc i thought u had the best replay system? Do you turn off a cam when it benefits you? That was awful for you nebraska! Your replays should be the best if you are going to brag make it so They have the same cameras all the big10 has and they’ve sucked all year. The only time they show a replay at the Devaney on the screen is when Nebraska public broadcasting is there doing better camera work than the big10 and apparently ESPN

Made it home. Started reading some of the aftermath here. Stopped doing that. Major props to KU for adjusting, settling in, and playing a great match. The Jayhawk fan contingent was the best we've had at a Devaney tournament match in quite a while. The two Missouri years are not even comparable. RT. KU band was also so fun and S/O to the KU fans who bought SRO tickets! The SRO KU fans were awesome….but the police went up a few times to try to settle them down 😂🙄🙄🙄 I was right below them and my 2.5 year old nephew was loving them being silly.

What a shame. The ball clearly hits the antenna, and this is evident in real-time and from any of the slow-motion replays that I've seen. Not sure how a referee with the replay tools available to him comes to the conclusion that he did. He shouldn't work another match in this tournament in my opinion. The athletes work too hard for an outcome to be decided based on incompetence.

Not conclusive enough to overturn based on any of the replays I've seen (the very brief and terrible view shown on the ESPN+ feed and the clip that noob posted from the VM camera). Where have you seen other replays?

Just interesting to me how the technology still fails getting things right. Human error/negligence still involved. I think you're the one who needs to show some honesty.

The gif that n00b posted doesn't seem like the antenna moved, but the clip in this tweet DEFINITELY looks like the ball hit the antenna.

I don’t think it shows anything. I understand why people don't think it hit the antenna. It's very close. I just think it did, and Nebraska got a break.

The ncaa isn't going to do that for volleyball. They're going to use the existing set-ups and if need be bring in broadcasters from outside. But for the most part, listening to all the matches, they are even using the hosting schools announcers.

In the words of crooked, “what difference would it make?” The match is over, the scorebook has been signed, it’s over. Move on. Nebraska tried to install better cameras three years ago but the B1G and NCAA denied their request. If the call was missed, it wasn’t the first and it won’t be the last; move on and push for better cameras. Nebraska has bigger problems to deal with. Someone in this program should ask themselves why a setter who has played ten sets in 2 national championship matches has regressed so far this season; and why another setter who was heralded as the next great national team setter after she took the U18 team to a world championship in 2019 is barely able to set a legal ball. In at least 22 matches so far this season, Nebraska has been outplayed at the setter position. I believe there is only one team in the B1G that Nebraska can say they are better at at the setting position. This is a place that that has a legacy of creating elite setters, but something has gone askew. When this season ends next Thursday or Friday for Nebraska, some self reflection should take place. This season could not have been botched any more than it has been. We’ll see how it goes. . . I hope real changes are made.

Both setters are coming back from injury (Acl and Back) and it’s pretty clear it’s affected both of their movement (and jumping ability in Nicklins case)
It’s unfortunate. But it can’t magically be solved in a snap, if even ever.
