UCF just making dumb mistakes This has been a characteristic of UCF in crunch time the past few seasons. They just can't get it done in big matches. Sorry to see for McKenna Melville. I know she's had offensive struggles - but her passing + defensive skills have been superb and really given UCF a chance to be on this stage. Congrats to her. |

Just kinda shows what playing a competitive schedule does for you. Calm under pressure is what UCF has lacked the last 2-3 szns.

What’s going on in Happy Valley that the attendance looks so low? I was highly disappointed to see that...just a terrible turnout. The Top 10 men's ice hockey team had a match last night and tonight against Ohio State, drawing about 6,400 fans each night...tonight's match was at 5:30, which is enough of an overlap. Need better coordination and promotion from the athletic department. What a shame. |

UCF did schedule tough last year though (they had like 8 matches against Top 50 competition in the non-conference) and still lost a tough match in the 2nd round. That was the reason they eased up this year - Daganeis thought they scheduled too tough and it was better for them to try to strategically game RPI rather than play good teams and lose. |

I just hear it all the time in sports - 'battle-tested' vs 'well-rested/untested' when it comes to why a team wins/loses. Like when ACC basketball teams fizzle out in the tournament after playing a grueling 'conference tournament' the week before. Frankly, I was never impressed with WKU this season, though they had a couple nice games with Rice. Rice on the other hand outscored Baylor by 11 points in Waco. I'm upset Rice didn't get a chance to play at home (I thought they should have) and could still be playing next week. |
