Minnesota will win. They did when UNI was usually the better team in Cedar Falls in 2001. Drat on that! Still, yay UNI beating FSU!

I love it when UNI comes to town. They travel well - lots of fans and even some cheer leaders this time.

I expect MN to come out more focused than last night. Hope Wenaas and Wurcherer keep up their play and Landfair plays like she did in the 3rd set.

Just hoping UNI plays their best-- they have had such an awesome season-- kudos to all the hardwork they put into this season-- and just maybe they shine brighter tonight?!?!?

I must be misunderstanding what you're saying here, because UNI beat Minnesota in 2001 (26-30, 21-30, 30-21, 30-19, 17-15) in Cedar Falls. in more recent history (i.e. the 25-pt scoring era): UNI won in the Diet Coke Classic at Minnesota in 2010 (25-16, 16-25, 17-25, 25-23, 18-16) coincidentally I believe Minnesota was ranked #8 in the country at the time (same as now) Then Minnesota won in Cedar Falls in 2011 (25-22, 12-25, 14-25, 25-16, 10-15) And most recently, in 2017 the #8 Gophers won a home 2nd round NCAA tournament match over the Panthers (18-25, 25-20, 19-25, 17-25) after UNI had swept Louisville in the first round.

That's a pretty intense history - seem to always be good matches.
Second round Saturday is probably the best day of the tournament - so many matches, and way more possibility for intrigue and upsets than the first Thursday and Friday (encompassing the first round and a few second round matches).

And the UNI fans (students) swarmed the floor before the final whistle blew. Mind you, it was just *barely* before, and the ball was clearly and completely unplayable, but it still irked me (and I have a super-long memory, even if it’s not always super-accurate). UNI and ISU both have decent histories playing against the Gophers. I take both of those Iowa teams super-seriously.

How old is Bobbi Peterson? I know she's not going anywhere, but is she young enough for a fairly long tenure at another school? She seems like she's been around forever. She looks fresh-faced and youthful in her bio pic on the Panther website, but who knows what year that's from.

Would love to see UNI take this one. They’ve had a great season. Although when they came to the University of Iowa in September, Iowa had a dominate sweep over them. Just pointing it out:). Go Iowa teams!
