With Anna Kiraly still on the Wahine Roster, it can only mean she has gained control over her health issue. She probably will not be match ready, but at least this could mean she would be able to help out in the practice gym. With this being said, the Wahine are at least 2 deep at every position, with some players being able to play multiple positions.
Middle Blockers: Amber Igiede and Kennedi Evans, with Jacyn Bamis and Anna Kiraly the reserves. Outside Hitter 1: Caylen Alexander, with Stella Adeyemi the reserve. Outside Hitter 2: Riley Wagoner, with Tali Hakas the reserve. Opposite Hitter: Tiffany Westerberg, with Annika De Goede the reserve. Setter: Kate Lang, with Jackie Matias the reserve. Libero: Tayli Ikenaga, with Talia Edmonds the reserve. Defensive Specialist: Kendra Ham, with Talia Edmonds the reserve.
There could be changes if a transfer player is added to the team before fall practice begins. Or, if Robyn decides to move some players around. For instance, moving Caylen Alexander to Opposite, or even moving Tiffany Westerberg back to Middle. What could also occur is if Tali Hakas beats out Kendra Ham for the Defensive Specialist position,
The one thing I can see though, is that this coming season's Wahine Team will be much better then last season's team. Mainly due to the depth they will have at every position, something they did not really have last season.

Also, If anything Tiff is going to be the reserve middle, if Kennedi can still be as effective in kills as she was with Minny.

Tali Hakas is not coming to UH to be a DS! If she doesn't crack the front row in her freshmen year, she's gonna opt to not play at all? I think Tali unseating a back row player but not a front row player is a definite possibility.

These two new recruits must be hidden gems. Usually doesn’t take this long for someone to find out who a recruit is.

I am assuming she agreed to come here to compete as as OH.....just like Riley Wagoner. If she doesn't crack the starting lineup, she will probably be a backup OH and come in when a starter struggles. Being a DS will take away her chance to be a high level D1 OH. There seems to be rush to move undersized OHs to libero. There was talk of moving Wags there but it never materialized. Got enough DS on the team.

Like I get it, she has international experience but that doesn’t equate to being given an automatic spot that she doesn’t have to work for. No knock on whatever the level of play she’s had in Israel but it’s not like she’s an Olympian. Let’s be smart and expect her to earn her spot like any other player on the roster and if she’s the type to peace out because she wasn’t handed a spot then oh well, wasn’t a good fit for the type of program Robyn wants.

Riley can be the go to OH i’m pretty sure Tali could do the same maybe even more! Riley will DS first before Tali! I feel like this could be the case only because of all the seniors TECHNICALLY being in their 5th year and a lot of coaches have wanted to honor their incoming class commitments. Although seeing as how a year was stolen by the Big West, the Coaching staff might not see it the same way.

If you don’t crack the starting lineup, then you keep working at it. You don’t just change position.
Moving to DS will require her to spend more time working with the smalls instead of working as an OH. It will be time taken away from what she came here to be.
If Tali doesn’t crack it this year then maybe she can keep working and get the starting job next year but if she moves to DS, she will lose that year of training and repetition as an OH. Her progress will be stalled by spending a year at another position.

I’m sure the staff wouldn’t need to take away large amounts of hitting, blocking, and general front row reps to have her play a backrow Outside role. Ikenaga and Edmonds are likely the only ones who will be getting strictly non front row player reps.

Agree with everything you said except the "Got enough DS on the team" comment. We only have Talia & Tayli. We could use a couple of more littles...

True and her leadership and experience in both indoor and beach are too valuable to just be used in the backrow. But I feel like it’ll be tough to make a starting team out of this incoming roster. We are basically getting upgrades from any position.
