I could see Minnesota winning this comfortably in 3 or 4. I hope it goes 5 though, with each set getting into the 30s. Oh you want them wore out when they get to the regional finalđź’€

Regional of rematches. TX/OSU have already played 2x. OSU/MN 2x. TX/MN 1x.

Also, the Minnesota match against Texas was in Gregory, so the Gophers won’t exoperience the kind of shell shock we often see wit other opponents. Although frankly the B1G has so many great venues I wouldn’t expect that to occur regardless.

Now just need Marquette to....

The success of Ohio State's season hinges on this game. If they lose, it is the exact same result in conference and tournament as last year, which is a big disappointment based on losing virtually no one from last year and the start to conference play. If they win, they advance past the sweet 16 for the first time since 2004 and it is the best season since Stacey Gordon's senior year, which ended in the other tournament match against the Gophers. At that point it is house money trying to upset Texas and make the final four for only the third time in history and first since 1994.
Not fun facts: OSU record in Sweet 16 round 3-16. (Wins in 1991,1994,2004) Current Big Ten Teams lost to in this round: Illinois (x2), Penn State, Nebraska, Wisconsin (x2) 2-5 in 5th sets including 3 straight years from 2014-2016.
Basically I am scarred as an OSU volleyball fan from this round and will have plenty of beer in the fridge for this one.

11 AM for what could very well be the best game of the round? Oh well.

Minnesota is favored, but OSU played well vs. USC. Londot needs to go off.

Two great teams that are well coached and ready to battle. I think it’ll be a tight match but I have to go with those Gophers 3-2!!

Minnesota is impossible to read this year, and OSU had been on fire until abruptly faceplanting their final 4 games of the season (but now looking great again?), so I have no freaking clue how this is going to turn out. Any conceivable outcome would make sense, from a Minnesota sweep to an OSU one. Should be fun. Loser gets the Big Ten “Most Jekyll and Hyde Award” for 2022.

Minnesota is the hot one. They’ll sweep. Minnesota absolutely was the hot one at the end of conference play. But watching this past weekend, OSU definitely looked better. Part of the reason why is Landfair hasn't been at her peak, averaging just 10 kills. Booth has been outstanding, if there were a "player of the first two rounds" award it's gotta go to her. If we can get them both firing, tame Wucherer slightly, and have Wenaas take a little bit off the back row, then I think we'll sweep. It's going to be tough if we aren't at our best.

Both squads have had extreme up and down streaks this season. While I'd love to see a great 5-set match, something tells me one team will mimic its best play during the regular season, and the other team will mimic its worst.

Trajectory favors MN
If you’re big into the B1G you want a convincing, confidence boosting sweep at 25-23, 26-24, & 25-20 Yeah, there’s a day of rest but you dont need an adrenaline exhausting marathon
Leadership outperformance will make the probable difference and who & how many of each squad’s athletes will rise up is anyone’s guess
I love MN and a deep run in honor of Hugh is my wish but OSU was my pick until Indiana punched them
