Way to go to the Huskers for another great season. Next year is going to be fantastic. Bummer to see our seniors go.
Congratulations to Oregon. That team earned it.

Allick was a complete non-factor in this match.
4-2-16 (.125) with only 2 blocks

Somebody said that 30 pages or so of this forum were nonsense. I would say that 200 pages is more like it! C'mon. I predicted 3-1 Huskers and was glad to be proven wrong. No, very few wanted a Texas-Nebraska final. Yuck! That was a great win for Oregon after the predictable crappy opening game. I always liked Lewis and was happy to see her come into her best. Yeah, Nuneville's numbers sucked. Don't forget that she's an undersized outside hitter, vulnerable to good blocking and serving. Predictable offense? Yawn. Whose offense isn't predictable? Nebraska's strength has been blocking and defense, even without Knuckles. They had that, but nothing compared to a stunning Oregon effort and discovering a middle attack at the end. Go Ducks!

longest match thread of the season at a whopping 209 pages I mean, I think it’s mostly to the testament of how incredible this match was. Instant classic. If there was a poll after the tournament is over, I would not be surprised if this match was voted as the best match of the tournament. Definitely the match of the day so far. The other matches have been snoozefests compared to this match. Looking forward to next year, Nebraska! Oregon, well played match. You all deserve the win.

At least Nebraska assistant coach took ownership of the poor defensive scheme in post radio interview. Nebraska had not prepared for Lewis.

I called it a coaching mistake earlier, and i'll roll back on that a little because it was more calculated gamble that didn't pay off, still an mistake, but one a lot of coaches would probably make.

If he puts Allick in to serve and she misses, there'd have been plenty of posts about him being a knucklehead for waiting until the very end of set 4 to ask a freshman to serve for the first time all match.

"Nothing compared to a stunning Oregon effort" lol, ok. It was a 5 set match in which Nebraska lost two of the sets by 2 points and had multiple match points in the fourth. Oregon rightfully deserved the win, but I don't think either team's play dwarfed the other's.

It's easy to second guess after the fact, but Cook's stated reason for putting Boesiger in to serve for Allick with his final sub of the 4th set doesn't really make sense. It was a deuce set at that point and sure, Allick has been an erratic server this season, but at worst she misses her serve and you're facing set point. If so, Rodriguez comes back into the back row and you have Allick available to come back into the front row later, rather than having the 5"6' Boesiger up there.
IMO it wasn't a gamble worth taking.

I'll have to defend Cook on this one, at least insofar as I realize it was a mistake, but that's 20/20 hindsight. It's not about just the serve and even a miss, it's about someone playing the backrow for 3 rotations, and esp defnsively in terms of positioning, etc..., probably makes the gamble look a little differently.
edit: just realized that Allik is a middle, thus Masie would just be a serving sub, my bad

I'm a Big Ten fan and I get annoyed with this commentary about how they are just prepared because they have stamina. And it was Nebraska that ran out of gas at the end.

Please tell me it wasn’t any of you Nebraska fans holding up fake challenge cards lmao It was literally every Nebraska player parent and sibling waving them like mad.
