Too bad Oregon didn't schedule their subregional for Thursday/Friday instead of Friday/Saturday. They had to have known Louisville's regional would most likely get the early time slots for this coming Thursday (as they were listed on the ESPN guide) being the only #1 seed in the Eastern time zone. That extra day off could be important (for travel, etc.). I believe you have to have an exception to get the Thurs/Fri regional time. Like a basketball or facility conflict or something. It’s not just a voluntary pick, but maybe that has changed I know that used to be the case. I recall Florida would typically schedule for Thursday/Friday when their football program was participating in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta on Saturday. Texas has been playing its sub-regional on Thursday's for as long as I can remember. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with the football program. And, we have a volleyball-only facility. So, can't think of a single valid reason why Texas would be granted an exception. Same for Nebraska this season.

The start time is a joke, this isn’t a club tournament. The solution to this problem is to not have it televised. Does that fix it for you? It. doesn't. actually. start. at. 8. am. MBB post seasons starts at this time as well. I assure you, it. does. actually. start. at. 8. am. where. I. live. For that matter, it's a 6am start time for volleyball fans in Hawaii.

I can sympathize with those fans who will have a difficult time watching such an early match.
On the other hand, I'm sure the East coast fans have hated it all these decades when a match in the Pacific Time zone tips off at 11 PM Eastern time.
Guess what? It's the world we live in.

That's fine, but it's annoying AF for someone to be denying this reality, as though time zones outside the Midwest are not actually real.

Ducks don’t set their alarm correctly and sleep through set one. Then come storming back -23, -23, -24. We all know Nebraska has to lose by 2… Ducks take it 3-1.

At least the World Cup has prepped me in watching high level sports in the morning. I don't love it but it is what it is!
