Too bad Oregon didn't schedule their subregional for Thursday/Friday instead of Friday/Saturday. They had to have known Louisville's regional would most likely get the early time slots for this coming Thursday (as they were listed on the ESPN guide) being the only #1 seed in the Eastern time zone. That extra day off could be important (for travel, etc.).
I believe you have to have an exception to get the Thurs/Fri regional time. Like a basketball or facility conflict or something. It’s not just a voluntary pick, but maybe that has changed
I know that used to be the case. I recall Florida would typically schedule for Thursday/Friday when their football program was participating in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta on Saturday.
Texas has been playing its sub-regional on Thursday's for as long as I can remember. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with the football program. And, we have a volleyball-only facility. So, can't think of a single valid reason why Texas would be granted an exception. Same for Nebraska this season.
