Oooh, Missy calling out the Maples crowd. With good reason. Stanford’s athletic program (*) has a serious attitude problem toward non-alumni fans. It was never good but is far worse now than it was back in Coach Dunning’s early days. The athletic program tried then. They stopped trying a long time ago. (*) - This is not a problem at Coach Hambly’s level. It is people above him and the God-awful snobs that wish all non-alumni to Just Go Away. How many schools have player parents that feel a divine right to keep FANS away from the area behind the bench at road matches? They don’t want you within fifty feet of the bench… more like two hundred or more |
