I also liked that other gal, the one from Esperanza High School, the one who hit those monster shots from the back row but eventually played DS. God, what's her name?! I keep forgetting names recently. She had such an intense face. Never saw her smile but I loved watching her play. She could kill anyone in a dark alley. I still miss the monster shots from the back row too!

Remember in game 5 when it was 11-11 or 10-10, and PSU had been up the whole game then LBSU made a dig, Misty made a bad pass and got it back, then slammed it down from the back row to give LBSU their first lead? I still get chills thinking about that play.

For some reason Brandy Barratt was my favorite player on the 1998 LBSU team. I wasn't her #1 fan because of the comments she made about Penn State, and how the champion should be from the west coast, or something along those lines. I think she offended Penn State. I attended the 1998 championship game, and I think she was booed when she was introduced(not 100% sure though). Misty was/is just as good a person as she is a player. After the championship game when Bremner was very sad and crying, Misty walked over to her and gave her a hug, she is a class-act.

Yeah, I remember that about her, but I still liked her as a player for that team.
I was at the final four that year as well (darned cold as I recall) and there was a lot of sniping going on back and forth between PSU and LBSU.
I was bummed that PSU lost, but it was a fun match.
I was also bummed seeing the PSU players sitting down sadly at the end of the court waiting for the LBSU players and coaches to stop celebrating and do the post match hand shake thing.

I've made a DVD of the 1998 Final Four. All three matches.

It would be illegal for me to sell it. I don't do illegal stuff, except to spy on SlopBoob reading The Cat in the Hat (with dictionary on hand) in his jammies down in Southern Cali. I get a kick out of that!!

Who mentioned anything about a monetary exchange for the DVD?

I made two copies. I would essentially have to burn more. But then you might trace the package to me through fingerprint or other forensic evidence. And there's also the damn DNA on the stamp. It's just too risky.
I'll make more copies and when I'm in a good mood and the Good Lord hasn't taken my life in a freak car accident or Odin the Norse God hasn't banned me for some random reason, I'll post asking who wants a copy for $5.00. How's that for an offer? Or, I'll just offer it for free but charge only $2.50 or whatever to cover shipping. But only to people I like and know.
If I were to be banned before then, I'll post with another of my monikers, make the offer, proces it, and then shut the forum down. That's only if Odin toys with me. If he leaves me alone, I won't touch him.

I was also bummed seeing the PSU players sitting down sadly at the end of the court waiting for the LBSU players and coaches to stop celebrating and do the post match hand shake thing. At the game, there were 12,500 penn state fans, and a small patch of LBSU fans. I was sitting by PSU fans but I was cheering for LBSU. I thought that LBSU would win it because they had Misty who was a senior, and it would be the "perfect ending" and it made sense, but then when it was 7-2 in game 5 I didn't think they had a chance, that was one of the great comebacks in championship history. After Misty put down her final kill and LBSU took the lead, I knew it was over because LBSU had all the momentum. I felt really bad afterwards for the PSU players who were just sitting there waiting for their hand shakes and all-tourney awards. The one player from Penn State who I really wanted to win a championship was Christy Cochran because she was the toughest player I've ever seen and she had come so close twice and it just slipped through her fingers(not to mention the 20-18 game 5 loss to Nebraska in 96). I'm not bummed that PSU lost to LBSU that night because they ended up winning it the next season, and I thought that the 1998 LBSU team was clearly the better team and deserved the championship that season.

Barratt was a dork who liked to run her mouth for the press.
I really enjoyed the post-match handshakes after the '98 Final which showed good sportsmanship in victory by the LBSU team. Oh wait...that never happened. Beachdork will, of course, blame it on the NCAA officials who "whisked" the team away immediately following the match, even though my videotape shows (in real time) they had enough time to cavort around and take a team pic while the event staff dismantled the entire net system. But, of course, there was no time for the post-match handshake in the midst of all this "whisking".
