I want to give Kennedi Orr some much deserved props. She was much maligned last year. She didn't have the season she likely wanted. Fans were not so nice at times. But she has embraced this new, limited serving specialist role. Last night, she has some clutch serves, and a incredible one-handed dig, late in the second set that was timely. She's had a few positive serving runs in these tournament games that have pushed her team to victory. From what I see on social media, she's a great teammate. I love to see her and Bergen celebrate after points, and after games. There's obviously no hard feelings that Bergen took her starting setter role. Kennedi could have pouted, asked for a transfer, etc. But she didn't. She accepted this new role and reinvented herself, so to speak.
I'll be the first to admit I cursed her name a few times last year. I feel bad for that. But I'm happy she's still on this team, and contributing. And I really hope she sticks around next year.
