Man all the events have seemed so early in the day? Also what the team is going to do with an extra day now that the match isn't Saturday night. Looks like they'll have to try to avoid some nasty weather - tornados possible. Rain is supposed to stop early morning Sunday.

The other I saw was from Channels 10/11 Lincoln prior to Pitt match. Was taking a stab at some sarcasm. Also now see Cornfarmer posted same video. It was not showing up in that post on my IPad earlier.

Merritt Beason Ovation Post (MBOP): Check out her sequence vs Michigan, Set 1, down 22-24. Chronologically: Leadership (ready to be clutch), talent/skill (sees the shot/makes the shot) maturity (mentally transitions immediately from hitter to server), preparation (finds her "mark" to start her serve approach), focus (looking for signal from coach, so locked in), courage (commits to going for a really high degree of difficulty/precision serve under pressure), reliable routine (serve routine holds up under pressure), skill/talent (executes the serve, gets the ace), heart and soul (you ain't got that thing if you ain't got that swing). Deuce game. Show it 5 or 6 times to whomever you're helping do life. ...'cause I just watched it again...and noticed that ALL THREE Michigan receivers took solid steps to their LEFT. The announcer brought it up but ya, those receivers moving left suggests it was a cut serve, or something funky, in that situation. Dang. Just wanted to addend my own previous "MBOP": I attended my 3d ever Husker match in the 25 years I've paid attention, in Tampa the other day, and saw Merritt interact. It was something to see and I can confirm the glowing accounts you may have heard. I watched the TV replay and understandably, the camera caught some but not all. An example of one you saw on TV was when she told Ally, "We got you", after Ally's mis-hit of an extremely tough set and more importantly, immediately preceding the stretch of the set where Ally played a main role in creating point separation that ultimately made the difference. What (I think) you didn't see on TV was an interaction with Bekka during a green card review.. Bekka was exasperated with officials' repeatedly missing touch calls, and I saw Merritt look her in the eye, speak to her probably 20 seconds. MB's intent obviously was to help Bekka channel that energy to "the good', going forward. Bekka turned my direction post-talk, and what I saw on her ever-expressive face was some combination of love, appreciation, calm and resolute confidence. It was remarkable. I don't mean to overdramatize or make MB out to be some sort of angel, 'cause she's still just a young adult doing her best and this is stil just a game, etc..... but volleyball is a real laboratory for group dynamics, and Husker VB is a stage, so we have the opportunity to see these things play out. Expression of such character is not exclusive to MB (it's a (the?) reason I dedicate precious time to following Husker VB closely) but she is extra-ordinary.

We were about 2-3 people back from the "blue carpet" arrival, and the woman in front of us got a hug from Merritt when she went by. Chatting with her after learned she knew Merritt from Alabama--and obviously held MB in *very* high regard.

Also saw her turn around and talk to the folks (maybe you) behind her. :-)
