So Calissa is in fact out. Shoot. She’s dressed so hopefully nothing too serious.

Gophers won first set 25-23. Lineup Shaff/Crowl Landfair/Wurcherer Davis/Ali Bastienelli (AU) Did we get an AU player to play libero? Gray is playing libero. Doing pretty well, some not so good moments and some pretty good moments.

Gophers lost 2nd set 27-25. Passing wasn't as good, played a 6-2 with Crowl/McGhee and Shaff/Hanson.
TayMo played middle. Davis was effective offensively that set and pulled a lot of blockers.

With the first 2 set being close games, I would like to think that we possibly could win the bigten title this coming season.

Ugh they’re doing the AU drafting gimmick after the first two sets tonight. Four sets in total. Dislike. Assuming there aren’t any illnesses or new injuries, we have enough players to put a team together. Would rather see the Gophers getting reps together in a competitive setting while they can. I too would love to watch our girls getting reps in together, but I think they do this exhibition to also promote athletes unlimited and their style of play. So the intermingle players to get a glimpse of how they do things.

If the new middle coming in can be dynamic both offensively and defensively we might have a chance. But I think also think Wisconsin is just too stacked to get by them. PSU and Nebraska will be really tough too. I think it will be a battle for 2nd place.

Agreed, I also think it’s just kind of fun to see everyone play with the pressure off and it also benefits younger players by having to adapt. I’ve watched 3 of the 4 AU matches so far (couldn’t watch Louisville, is it on YouTube?) and I definitely like this format the best, very similar to how they did it with OSU. The Kentucky match was kind of painful to watch after a while, it felt like AU softened up and Kentucky got tense, mixing it up like this prevents that.

When our passing/ball control is off it’s rough… but when it’s on the Gophs look fantastic. Murr + a DS could be a huge difference maker

So happy to see tough serving! Mghie can play some solid defense. And Hanson continues to impress me, her serve receive has been surprisingly strong this match and her blocking has improved on both left and right sides. She’s growing to become a great utility knife for the Gophs
