Could just be me, but feels like this off-season has been super quiet. No news on the assistant coach, where we’re playing home games next year, and just any updates in general.
For a top program I’m not sure there’s anyone worse than pushing out news and content to fans than Kentucky. Anyone have any insights they can share?

Both of these are unconfirmed but have heard rumors they are true: -Ben Josephson to be new AC. Current staff members now following him on socials along with players parents and future '23 and '24 recruits. -UK will play at Transylvania University for VB, WBB, and Gym during 23-24.

thoughts on the (heavily rumored, likely true) Ben Josephson hire? huge success at Trinity Western, struggled with the Canadian men, but I'm not sure that performance was really entirely on him

I don't know a ton about him, but I like bringing in someone with experience in the men's game.

Canadian fans can give you more detail, but I'll try to tell you what I've heard from their perspective and also what I saw in games. Coming off their Tokyo performance, Canada hired Josephson as their HC after his success in the Canadian collegiate mens volleyball rankings. He came in with the intent of changing the Canada men's style to match that of Trinity Western's, and when it worked it was one of the fastest offenses in the world. However, team Canada was also going through some severe personnel overhaul since they were losing many of their Olympic starters. Lots of young guys coming in, and most of them came from Trinity Western as they were familiar with Josephson's system/style. There were some grumblings that some deserving players were left off in favor of the 'TWU boys' but I'm not sure there was much to that. In terms of actual play, Canada really struggled with their ball control and defense. Part of that might be the new personnel (Canada had a current NCAA player starting at lib for most of VNL) but to me it looked team-wide and didn't get better throughout the summer. Canada didn't have the passing to run their fast offense either, and sometimes it seemed too fast to me honestly. Canada fired him after one season so we did not get to see if they improved or not by next season. TLDR...I don't know how much to draw from his stint with Canada but he is very experienced with the mens game and understands fast offense.

Sounds like a good fit, he takes over the offense left by Anders.

Will be interesting what recruiting chops he brings to the program. Anders seemed great on that front.

Renderings of what’s to come for Memorial Coliseum. Long overdue for those programs, but glad they’ll finally have a great building to play in here soon.
