Ben Josephson is a great hire! He is a great coach and so well respected by anyone who has played under him.
He was also the assistant coach for the Canadian Women’s National Team for two season’s under Tom Black and was a huge asset. The players loved him. He also coached the team after Black left and many thought he should have been named the head coach before Shannon Winzer was named as the coach (thanks for that Volleyball Canada).
He has a long history of winning and players who respect him. The men’s team was losing some of the older players anyway and while there was a couple left off the roster, I liked that he took some younger players to the VNL. I think developing the younger players was the right decision. He was not treated well by Volleyball Canada but they are not the best managed organization.
Congrats to Ben! You couldn’t ask for a better person.

A very promising hire, but I'm curious how recruiting goes in the post-Anders period. I mean, if UK's recruiting success was contingent on its Associate Coach, the program has bigger issues/hurdles than losing said Associate Coach.

It’s a fair question. A lot of assistants have had huge impacts on recruiting. But Craig will be fine. |

It’s a fair question. A lot of assistants have had huge impacts on recruiting. But Craig will be fine. From what I’ve heard, Craig had a much larger impact on recruiting than Anders. And my point stands. |

Pretty fun spring schedule for Kentucky.
Also according coach Skinner’s instagram, Kentucky will play their fall home matches at Rupp Arena which is a pretty big deal.

saw Hannah Benjamin this past weekend at triple crown, '24 OH kentucky commit, looked like the best OH in the 17s division to me. she has a ton of range and hits a very heavy ball, really good foot speed too which was something I noticed she looked better in than the other tops OHs there like pierce from dynasty and spears from tav. saw her hit some filthy angles cross court with a lot of pace. I think Benjamin will immediately push for an OH spot as a freshman

I see a quite a bit of Stumler in the Benjamin highlights I’ve seen. The ‘23 and ‘24 classes for Kentucky have the ability to be pretty special for the program imo.

Not a bad opening weekend. Hope they are playing 3 games though if they are traveling out to Colorado for opening weekend.
Any one going to the spring game vs Louisville tonight? Would love some updates and recap. Excited to see Wilson on the OH for the Cats.
