We took set 4 25-13! That was a great showing. The offense was looking great and Grome was dishing. We were bouncing from all over

Weird they didn’t finish it off. Pretty evenly matched game. Think both teams are probably top 10-15 with room to grow as the fall season rolls around.

Great way to end it! Finally got into a decent rhythm in the 4th. If we can just get the OHs going, watch out.
Shout out to the high school for streaming the game, hopefully we can get one for the pitt game too.

I can't wait for the freshmen to come in and push this team.

This incoming freshman class may be one of the best classes Skinner has brought in. Reminds me a lot of the national championship freshman class but the upperclassmen were a lot more talented back then with Lilley, Curry, Stumler, and Skinner.
I really do think Skinner takes a hard look at the possibility of the 6-2. I know some disagree with me on here, but they have two really talented setters and Sarafa is just simply not going to sit for two seasons until Grome graduates. I don't see Sarafa completely outplaying Grome with the couple weeks of preseason (especially if they are running an even faster offense).
I've heard really great things about the DS/L Tuzzo, and I think the window is open for her to come in and make a difference as long as she can serve receive.
If the 6-2 does happen, Bultema will have a lot better chance to play because I would expect Rutherford and Tealer to be the OPP, and Goetz, Williams, and Bultema would battle it out for MB.
DeLeye has the potential to slide in at one of the OHs because that position group is weaker than it typically is at UK.
Skinner has talked about Dailey being very talented but isn't sure what position she fits in the best at the college game so I'd expect that to be a work in progress and maybe a redshirt season with her? Who knows though..
I'm really excited about this class, and even if they aren't playing as much as some expect... they are pushing the starters and upperclassmen everyday at practice to be better.

I agree, I think the practice gym as a whole will be more competitive this year which will benefit everyone. Rollins and bell are a big loss but the depth should be better this year imo

Emma Grome's resume. 2021 - SEC Frosh of the Year, 2nd Team All-American 2022 - SEC Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-American
This isn't the resume of a player that is losing many position battles. The move would also minimize Rutherford from the back-row, limit the ability to run the slide, and reduce serve receive patterns. If DS is also a position of strength (Baevin/Whitworth/Walker/Tuozzo), it minimizes that impact. LIB and maybe one DS plays in a 6/2.

Was going to say the same thing. They hardly ever set Rutherford in the backrow last year. I was confused why they let her play six rotations sometimes because she was rarely set back there.. same with Rollins.
I agree with the slide. UK MB's are known for going behind the setter and you are right that it minimizes that weapon.

There is zero percent chance Kentucky is running a 6-2. It isn't happening. Grome is one of the top 5 Setters in the Country. She is faster and more athletic than Sarafa. I would admit Sarafa might have better hands but she can't do some of the things Grome does on the court. I think Bultema is going to see the court and maybe even move into the rotation by mid season. In my opinion she is more athletic than the other MBs on the team.
