Well, what I thought would happen actually did. Aside from USC and Wisconsin switching places, the top 10 is what I predicted and they moved Missouri ahead of Tennessee.
The tournament in SA this weekend with USC, Florida, Texas A&M and Notre Dame has shaped up to be pretty good. Other than the NACWAA, you probably won't find another regular season tournament with all 4 teams ranked in the top 20. Although technically they all don't play each other, but USC and Florida will each play 3 ranked teams this weekend.
As for Cal dropping, it's not about who they beat, it's about who the teams behind them beat. Arizona and ND each had impressive weekends, beating ranked teams.

If Florida can get through the UTSA Tournament without losing, they could run the table the entire season and be undefeated heading into the NCAAs. The tourney will be tough, but I think Florida will be the best team there. The only team I'm worried about in the SEC is Tennessee, although UGA could be a pain.

Wonderful having all these Quality PreSeason tournaments all over the country: NACWAA, SA Tourney, Hawaii Tournaments (Penn State, USC, Hawaii over the weekend) ... agree with the 9-05 Poll, especially the Top Ten. Can't wait for more VB upsets

The top ten looks about right to me, too. Hawaii dropping three spots after losing to PSU on the road and at home is probably justified. I'm looking forward to seeing a healthy Wahine team take on Washington twice next weekend. Could have major implications (or maybe not ).

Hawaii plays Washington in two weeks, next week they play CSUN, Cincinnati and UCLA. I think Hawaii should be able to go 3-0. The top 10 looks about right to me as well.

Nice call by GatorVball. I expected Hawai'i to drop a couple of spots but the season is still young, and Hawai'i should be a healthy team by the time Washington rolls into town.

Actually, this weekend they play CSUN, Cincinnati and UCLA. Next weekend they play Washington (since today is Monday, at least here in Hawaii). I got my tickets, set my recorder, and am counting the days.

Has anyone seen anything about TV coverage for either match that might be accessible to non-Island residents?

Has anyone seen anything about TV coverage for either match that might be accessible to non-Island residents? No. The best coverage available for these matches is through radio: www.sportsradio1420.comAnd, that is ONLY for Hawai'i matches.

Explain to me... how Cal goes 4-0 and beats two Ncaa participants and drops two spots... TWO SPOTS. . I thought winning helped you move up in polls. Before shedding my tears for Cal, I looked up their 4-0 record and found that the highest Pablo rating of any of the teams Cal has played is 99 (Albany) and the scores of two of their game wins against Albany were 30-28 and 32-30. Those poor Bears will just have to see how they do against San Diego this weekend at home before they start the Pac 10 season. Maybe some of the voters downgraded Cal on principle for scheduling just one pre-Pac 10 match against a top 25 team.
