Haven’t finished a re-watch of WSU but a few of things I noticed. This team can play at a high level at times but is consistently inconsistent. Rarely do all pieces click at once for extended periods of play. Halter is probably the one balling out most consistently. We may pass well one play but the setting and or timing maybe off with a hitter, etc. The WSU game plan was to target Wenaas and Skinner. Wenaas passed like 18 balls before we got a side out off her first contact. And not all those passes were bad, maybe 3 bad passes (no aces) but mostly mid to good passes. It’s just for what ever reason we couldn’t side out and just got stuck in a transition game (WSU played good defense too). Texas scored 27 points off blocks and aces but just were not consistent enough in other facets of the game to beat WSU, even having a 9 point lead in set 2. I hope they just focused on the basics this week. I hate the conference scheduling format, but the nice thing about the back to back matches is it gives an uninterrupted string of days in a row to practice. Also, fewer teams to prepare for / more time to digest the scouting report. I hope we never, ever have ranked opponents on back-to-back nights again. Scheduling like that was big mistake, IMO. You need more than half a day to prepare mentally for a team like WSU, not to mention the fatigue factor

For the conference matches it does. It did not for WSU. WSU played on Wednesday, then played Texas on Friday. I am not of the belief that was the difference between winning and losing, but I do think it can make a difference to have 48 hours between matches versus 24 hours. Again, don't want to belabor it. But it's not the same for both teams.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost a few conference matches. I haven’t been overly impressed with the conference opponents I have watched, generally speaking, but Texas has enough weaknesses/flaws to make them vulnerable against pretty much anyone but the weakest opponents. The talent is there to win the Conference, but it could be a real battle to get there this season.

This team needs to keep improving.

emma halter interview on between the horns i mean baby spice, superstar That was a fun episode. I tried to come over here to post it, but of course katn was on top of things. Halter nailed Payton with a facial towards the latter part of the episode while Payton was trying to return Halter's serves. Baby Spice is so ridiculously adorable. I mean, every segment I see her on. Plus she's an amazing player. So many good liberos out there, even in our own conference, but I swear I wouldn't take anyone over her. She's almost certainly been the most consistent strength of the team in this early going. I also find it interesting how Christ-centric our team seems to be. Swindle, O'Neal, Skinner, Kenna Miller. I'm sure there are many others I'm not aware of. Personally, I think it's wonderful, but as much as that, I also find it interesting.

I think if she has a good conference season, I think she could be in the conversation for big 12 POTY but I think Skinner takes it this year I think it's Kipp's to lose, especially if Stanford makes the Final 4 B12 NPOY bb. We all know Kipp has probably the biggest chance for NCAA NPOY. Especially w/ Stucky out of the running.

There seems to be a strong link between volleyball and Evangelicals. But it could be that evangelicals are more vocal (it is part of the credo after all). There's also a trend for hella-long hair. IDK.

Interesting. I would not have put Stucky in the conversation. Anna De Beer, Erin Livingston, Asjia if she can get the offense going. Also Magda
