I feel like Texas fans have made it abundantly clear that we have no expectations of a regional seed, as we don’t believe we are a top 4 team, but you could’ve missed that when it’s come up. |

"Fair vs. unfair" is kind of beside the point. It's a matter of opinion, and if you follow the AVCA you'll know that inertia and brand-name recognition are reflected in those opinions a lot. If you want to go statistical justification of rankings, I guess RPI is the way to go. I also take a little bit of exception regarding the "pretty easy schedule" bit. It's not like we control who's in-conference and our non-conference was considered one of the toughest out there. |

Like, no Texas fans have said that we DESERVE to be in the top 4. We didn't schedule easy. Our opponents were not better than expected. The coaches poll is the laziest poll out there. BUT ALSO YES we want bragging rights lmao |

It would be "unfair" if the tourney were seeded according to the poll. The AVCA poll is a list of how good the coaches think a team is--not an indication of what that team has earned. For instance, if they did a 64 team coaches' poll, it would probably look a lot different than the actual NCAA tourney, because teams earn their way in via conference championship, when they might be worse than the 64th best team in the country. So, "fair?" ehhhh--they're entitled to put some respect on the Texas name, even if actually seeding UT that way would be ridiculous |

I’m fine with playing Jenna more in 6-rotation. That’s no slight to Barnes. I prefer an offense with two 6-rotation players to create a constant back-row attack possibility. But you have to have two players that can pass, defend, attack, and serve well enough to do it. I hope next year Jenna and Madi will both play six-ro, but this year and/or next it’s not something you have to do all the time. But it’s great to have that option/potential. Maybe sometimes you want to be more defense-oriented, maybe other times more offense-oriented. Saturday was a great time to throw that wrinkle in there. Same for this final regular season match against Tech.

It’s not like the serve just goes up in the air and comes down. Depending on the spin it floats left to right, falls like a rock, or keeps carrying more than expecting. It’s like wondering why baseball players can’t hit a pitch. You know this. Watching on TV thinking everything is so easy if they’d just execute better is a luxury. |
