Just as a comparison Parra had hit under .100 in 6 games and under .200 in 13 games. Not excusing some of Jenna’s performances but for those who are clamoring for Parra instead I don’t think that would’ve solved everything like people want to believe. Also the last postseason match she played in Gregory she hit .421 and had 9 kills, maybe we can bring that kind of magic to this season. Does Jenna have any top 10 Big 12 rankings? Parra is second in points and kills and service aces and she passes dimes. Jenna can’t pass gas. It’s not even in the same universe. Texas would be so much better off with Parra out there. Passing and serving sure, but she wouldn’t get the same volume of attacks with Skinner here so second in pts/kills is not exactly that applicable. I could also guess we’d be DSing her with Barnes anyways, which lessens her passing impact. I don’t think our record looks significantly different with Parra, but it’s all just conjecture and hypotheticals. |

They're dealing with incensed football fans learning that the Big 12 has only allotted 8,500 tickets to each home team to play in JerryWorld.
Volleyball will have to wait.
8,500 tickets, that's truly insane?! Where are the other 80k tickets being sold? lol A lot of the first rights go to personal seat license holders, who helped finance the stadium’s construction in the first place. People would be better off having a personal relationship with a longtime Dallas Cowboys’ season ticket holder than any other avenue for ticket availability. There will be a TON of tickets available from third parties like SeatGeek. |

The regular fan has to do seatgeek.
This is happening right now in WBB. Big Bad UConn is coming to town. Tickets were "sold out" very quickly so you can't buy them from Texassports.com, but you can buy them off of seatgeek. Some theory is that it's part of some Jimmy V game series. But who knows.
In a way.......sorta, the volleyball post-season tickets are "fair" in comparison.

Just got this from Texas: There's a slight bit of fibbing going on here (if I remember correctly - I could be wrong!) that a student-athlete from out of state who is on scholarship, gets in-state tuition rates. Essentially, Akana is from Hawaii. She goes to UT on scholarship. UT "pays" itself the in-state rate for Akana's "tuition" from her scholarship.
And what is in the name of cooking-the-books is "student-athlete enhancement costs"?

In this hypothetical, I thought you were comparing the number of sets Parra would get compared to Skinner and also her defensive stats compared to Barnes (that Parra would probably get subbed out). That statistical comparison actually works in Parra’s favor (not against her) since the larger sample size of sets she gets this year (compared to fewer on the Texas team) gets to a truer result in the same cohort, that being the population of Big12 hitters. I thought we were comparing Jenna on the floor versus Parra. In fact I really like this hypothetical because it’s rare that one can answer a “what if” scenario with any certainty. In this case we can. Again, Parra has three impressive stats in the Big12: aces, kills and points. Since you mentioned it she’s also a statistically better digger than Barnes. I’d bet she’s as good on SR as any Texas player. Jenna has no top 10 accolades - I didn’t look at number of times a player got blocked so maybe she’s in that category. I don’t know why or how we lost Parra: it still stings me though. I know she looks happier now and she’s contributing in a big way. If they play in the NCAA like they played Texas they might end up making a deeper run. No seria eso ago? |

someone posted on FB that we have the highest ranked first round opponent by FAR lol what else is new?! Last year Stanford had to play Pepperdine in the first round, similar to what you guys are experiencing this year. They got through it and you guys will too! |
