Can anyone with a better understanding of hitting mechanics explain why Jenna gets blocked so much? Is there something about her swing or approach that makes her shoulder really easy to read?

Swindle was grabbing her foot in between sets. She was really battling out there even though it was very clear it impacted her.

Tomorrow against SMU could be v interesting. this SMU team is an older squad and it shows. Shime and Wheeler were lights out against TX State.

Swindle had some great sets to Asjia
It’s almost like Jenna being so off was beneficial for that. If the pass was half-decent she had to go to Asjia

Just a reminder that it’s 10x as frustrating to be an athlete that’s struggling than watch one. Stay kind and Hookem.

felt like they just stopped setting jenna Me too. And then I thought during the game, "So if we have her in the front row and aren't willing to set her, we essentially are playing with 66% of our front row players"

Just a reminder that it’s 10x as frustrating to be an athlete that’s struggling than watch one. Stay kind and Hookem. Yes, but.... It's a different kind of frustration. I get frustrated about wanting to be a better father, a better son, a better uncle, a better friend. I also get frustrated at the people around me making poor life choices that are out of my control. Both of them are frustrations, but they're different kinds of frustrations. The life of a sports fan - a sports "fanatic" - is one based around inherent helplessness that's not the same as the trials and tribulations of people directly involved with what happens in the field of play. We shouldn't be measured along the same continuum. We all handle those frustrations in different, and very personal ways. I understand why we want to judge others for how they handle their frustrations. I do. I know others judge me, too. But one thing we have in common is that we come back next year and root on our team all over again, through coaching changes, personnel changes, through the ups and the downs. There's a bond among all of us whether we choose to acknowledge it or not. On some level players/coaches/family members need to take the comments made on here with a grain of salt. None of us know the players/coaches personally. The ones that do, don't post on internet forums. Honestly, our comments shouldn't matter all that much. Sure, sticks and stones and all that, but honestly, there's nothing any of you could say to me that's going to affect how I think about myself because none of you know me well enough to actually understand what my vulnerabilities are. You have no idea what my path has been, my struggles, my triumphs. Why in the world would I care what you think about me? I feel like the players/coaches need to have a similar mentality. I don't like it when people go out of there way to say mean things about our players, but I also don't want to be a part of a site that shuts that kind of communication completely down. People are frustrated, and they're expressing that frustration among people they think will at least get it in some way. Maybe it's not the healthiest way to connect to one another as human beings, but at its core, that's what it is. It's people not wanting to feel alone with their frustration, so they're sharing it with others they think might get it on some level. That said, I also think you're making a timely and pertinent reminder, so I'm not trying to reject your message. I just think there's another side to it as well.

Postgame press conference Thanks for the link to the press conference. Elliott said that 1.64 million people watched the selection show. I love that.

I feel about Devin the same way I felt about Parra last year. She is transferring. The way how Jenna still in the game and Devin is not even in the stats 😬 Its worse this year then last…i kinda got why Parra didnt get plying time last year cuz the team was stacked…the fact Jenna is gettin chance after chance over Devin and chances Parra never got last year is hillarious…ball out somewhere else Devin while JE keeps waiting for Jenna to be productive hitter

She hit negative on the last match of the regular season and hit negative (-.143) in the first match of the tournament. I’m over her and JE playing her over Devin. She also had zero blocks and had shaky passing.
