Akana’s second touch set is sooooo *chef’s kiss* Glad we have her to set when Ella can’t. I feel like she’s just had a steady Eddie fall. Like not too flashy but always consistent when others haven’t been. Love it |

I do like that we won our 2 matches before Stanford even started their first round match!  On the flip side, we most likely play the last or second to the last regional semi-final of all regions next Thursday evening. If we make it to the Regional final on Saturday, definitely the last match of the night on Saturday. Take your naps! I'm rooting for the Cougars. Take 'em down, Houston! |

18 seasons in a row reaching the Sweet 16. It never stops being an ounce less enjoyable; and, I never take it for granted. Way to go Coach E. Love the consistency in the program.

From the game:
1. Cursty Le Roux is married to a Frenchman who is an ex-professional volleyball player, which is how the met. He is VERY tall. This is them having a husband/wife chat before the game.
2. This is the band. No MBB game. But come to think of it, it's roughly the size of the regular band during games in the regular season. Today, they played more often since they were the only band!
3. Just before the first serve, while both teams were facing each other, I said to my wife, "Oh wow. They (SMU) are SHORT." She said, "And skinny". No wonder they don't get that many blocks/set
4. I've never seen such an awkward set that led to an OH having to backward-overhead-reverse bump(?) to get the ball over the net. Do I even try to find the timeline in ESPN+ to record that one incident? Do I even have the enthusiasm to do that? Nah.
5. As I was watching yet another bump set with the ball spinning crazily, I was thinking "And so this is okay, but yet a two-hand set with juuuuuust a little spin is forbidden?"
6. Team in the 0.400+. Hat tip.
7. So the 5 empty seats next to us filled up. First two guys showed up and I decided to ask them questions: "Hey, so can you tell me if you bought those tickets today?"
"Yeah, we did."
"Okay, because they were empty yesterday and so I wondered if you bought them off of the ticket holders from yesterday?"
"Well, truth be told. We're season ticket holders and we got bumped up there" (him them pointing to the way back near the girders) "We looked online yesterday for better tickets. None. Then we looked this morning, no tickets from Texassports. Then we heard on the radio that there were tickets still available. So we got online and suddenly these tickets were available."
8. Concessions is usually begging to for people to take away their basics at the end of home games where there won't be a game for a while.

9. I guess there's a reason Wenass is on the team
10. Last I'll see of the seniors. Sniff.
11. Last year, I KNEW we'd get to the finals. This year, my prediction is we beat Tennessee 3-1 or 3-2. Then, we lose to Stanford 3-1. Next year!
