Well…Stanford looks stoppable #5 Arizona State upset #4 BYU, which means ASU plays Stanford at Regionals. ASU and Stanford split games this year.
So, it is possible.

I don't think she's going anywhere. Why would she? I mean you have both outsides back, which leaves 3 front row positions open. Helmers, Tompkinson, Kahahawai, Bryd, Bunton, & Singletary. I fully think Byrd will take the OPP position considering that they red shirted her this season, I think Tompkinson might transfer, & that leaves Bunton, Ames, & Singletary to fight for the middle position. I really think Ames committed to Texas because she feels like she could start as a freshman because Nebraska is gonna be stacked for years to come. it’s just my opinion but i’m more than welcome to be proven wrong, when Mari swings I see the million dollar arm

Someone’s gotta be on the bench otherwise there’s no team lol. I have faith we’ll be able to retain all of them (at least for this year) besides Devin and MAYBE Miller.

Uhhh, you know that Houston and Stanford are tied 2-2 and they are tied 5-5 in the fifth. After UH tied the match at 2, I resisted the temptation to post about it here...so as not to doom the chances for the upset. Not that it actually would have made a difference.

That’s probably why they lost. They needed the extra manifestation that you posting on this thread would have provided. In all seriousness it was a fun match to watch. Certainly less frustrating than Louisville’s futility in football that I had up at the same time. That 3rd set was a much more dominating win than it appeared for UH, but Miner went on an incredible service run late to partially close the gap. UH had no firepower from the service line. Rachel Tullos had 3 service aces, but I don’t think UH scored on a rally with her serving a single time. Morgan Janga had a few points. But mostly it was Abbie Cooke. In the 5th set her service rotation pulled UH back into a tie at 5-5, and then from there on out Houston scored 2 sideout points and that’s it. For much of the match Stanford’s offense was hitting on all cylinders, but their defense was practically nonexistent. If UH could have taken the lead in that 5th set I think they could have made it interesting, but it never happened.

If UH could have taken the lead in that 5th set I think they could have made it interesting, but it never happened. I happened to look at the bracket and saw that Stanford was up 2-1. Then, I casually decided to check the live box score and was shocked to see UH up 19-16 in the 4th set. I had to so something else and I came back to them tied 5-5 in the 5th. And then, Stanford went on a scoring blocking run where UH kept hitting into the block.
The commentators said, "looks like Stanford's block is back after disappearing for a while and Houston's hasn't reappeared"
I went to look back at the box score. Houston: 11, Stanford:12 Blocks.
Then counting the 4th set: Houston 6, Stanford: 2
And in the 5th set: Houston: 2, Stanford: 4
In a 15 point 5th set, that really hurt.

It really sucks bc Sauer was hot but they got stuck in ro.1😭 and the setter went away from her three times and each time they lost the point, by the time they went back to Sauer, she errored. Then the setter got a hand on a dig that she probably should’ve let her OH get and that was pretty much over from there..
