I can't stop re-watching the match. Each time I focus on different visuals. A few moments ago, I couldn't help watch Andrea in the fourth set sitting in row 1 behind the Stanford bench. In her burnt orange dress and white boots, she is a riot. Celebrated almost every point by jumping up with double hook'ems in the air. She'd stomp her boots at some points. I'm sure Hambly heard it all! The funniest part is when Jenna had 2 huge kills (one sharp cross court on the set by Asjia and one line shot), she just stayed sitting in her seat, but with both hands over her mouth; I think she was in utter shock that those 2 swings were terminal.

Okay, so I'm really considering roadtripping to Tampa for the FF. Is ticketmaster the only place to get tickets? $300/seat?!?!? If you want good seats you'll either have to pay through the nose or tap into the Texas allotment (call the ticket office to see how they are handling allocation). We first went to the finals in 2005 (Alamodome), when Texas was still just in the hopeful phase. Back then the event did not sell out. I think in 2009 (Tampa) we were able to buy walk up tickets. Memory is getting fuzzy, but I think during breaks in action they announced a date (in June?) when the 2010 tickets would go on sale, so we bought early for the 2010 tourney (KC). While attending in KC we were able to buy tickets (at a table inside the arena) for the 2011 tournament (Alamodome). Of course 2011 was the year we fell early to the eventual National Champion (UCLA).

can y'all remind me when the All America awards come out? Last year the texassports.com article was posted on the day before the two semi-finals.

So how do we think the OHs are practicing hitting against Smrek/Booth? Is it Erik on a ladder or do we have male Club practice players for wenaas they could just have her swinging against skinner and oneal lol - thats probably pretty close to smrek / booth when considering skinner / oneal both jump higher

I know exactly which two shots you are talking about - both textbook, gorgeous shots. Jenna needs to visualize those two shots continuously between now and Thursday, and herself hitting high hands/ tooling the block

She's taller and more physical at the net, right? she’s not that much taller. Pukis had a 6.3% block touch percentage with 48.1% of those touches being good/controlled and getting tooled 25.1% of the time. Miner also had a 6.3% touch percentage with a 46.7% good touch percentage, getting tooled 29.3% of the time. Pukis also had 42 stuffs that were hers (VM doesn’t do block assists) and Miner had 26. not that you should’ve known these numbers since they’re only accessible through VM, but it’s a very common narrative on here and it needs to stop!😭 Saw this is another thread. What are Swindle’s numbers?

What are Swindle’s numbers? 7.6% block touch percentage, but only 37% good touch percentage with a pretty high 35.6% of getting tooled. but 7.6% is a fantastic number. it’s a lot easier to get better at getting tooled less/get controlled touches than it is to grow/jump higher to get more touches haha

Curiosity from the record books: 2023's Madisen Skinner is currently in a dead heat with 1998's Demetria Sance for both kills (513, seventh best) and KPS (4.79*, fifth best). 1998's Dee has a small edge in points per set, and a better than 2:1 lead in digs per set.
*There could be a difference if calculated beyond two decimal places; I didn't dig into that.
